Sadly, I was told today that Thundercats’ writer, Howard Post passed away at 8am yesterday aged 83. As you’ll know, Howard contributed two episodes to the series: Spitting Image and Return of the Driller.
Howard also had many career highlights including titles for DC Comics and Head of Paramount studios.

That’s very sad - “Spitting Image” in particular is an amazing episode and obviously through those two episodes Howard was the man who gave us all of the Driller’s best moments in ThunderCats.

I’m very sorry to hear of Howard’s passing - I was quite a fan of the ‘Spitting Image’ episode as it was something very different and incorperated many characters, including Hammermand, into an episode that was unique. Voice-acting wise, it was just fun for Earle Hyman to play a bad guy and use that evil, slow dark voice he has. 
The Driller character I never particually minded - not a favourite but surely not as bad as that crap pirate they once had.
My heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Howard Post. We cherish his memory through the unique work he has left. Both episodes hold a special place in the Thundercats saga and our heart.
