Just a quick note in haste to show you guys what Kyle & I have been working on for the past couple of weeks for the Cartoon Section - work has been quite slow due to Kyle’s university work and other pressures, and issues in my personal life. But, we do have completed the new-look “splash page” for the Cartoon Section, as well as the revamped template for the episode guide - check these out!
There are still a couple of minor tweaks to be made to the “Exodus” page, notably the substitution of the image of adult Lion-O for “young Lion-O” once Kyle is able to do that illustration, and Kyle also asked me to mention that the links on the sub-menu for the “Exodus” page (below the title card image) need to be put into place. However, in terms of visual presentation, this is how we’re planning for these two pages to look!

My only question is why are two titles needed on the Episode page? You have one in HTML and is in the screenshot of the titlecard. How about just used the titlecard on its own?

LOL, Kyle you put a smile back on this aged old ThunderFan’s face - thank you! That page looks brilliant, as does the illustration in general - I shall knock out some text for that page, it should be quite an easy one to write up!
I understand what you’re saying, definitely - the only reason why I like it the way it is is for two reasons:
Because of blind people trying to access the page - I actually have a friend who is completely blind but reads websites and posts on message boards via his computer “reading” webpages to him. Unless I’m very much mistaken, a computer that does that wouldn’t be able to read the words “Exodus, Written by Leonard Starr” from the title card screenshot, it would just see that as a graphic. Actually if I had any criticism to make of this site, it would be that we should all use more “alt text” on graphics so that computers like my friend Josh’s can tell them what a graphic on a page actually is…
Ultimately I plan for the writer’s name on that page to link to a page listing all the writers and what episodes they worked on, so that anybody interested in a specific writer can find out what they contributed to the series, and ditto so that anyone who is interested in a particular episode can look up what other episodes that writer contributed to. So, that would obviously need some form of repeating the writing credit (as there’s no way that the title card would work as a link to such a page, it would be too obscure) - if we’re going to repeat the line “Written by Leonard Starr”, IMO it looks nicer if you add the episode title as well!

To add to my comment, I have to agree with Chris that in terms of Universal Access to the page content this may be a better way of doing it. Also linking to a ‘writer specific’ page is required (something Chris has told me but I forgot about:oops: ) So unless anyone strongly disagrees I see no harm in leaving the text there as well as the graphic.
I also will consider adding more alt text to the new upcoming pages of the site to further aid the universal accessibility of the site.
I just thought that I would fill you all in on whats going on at the moment. I have had very little time recently to post on the site, let alone work on content. I have been working really hard on a painting at University thats dimensions are bigger than me!
I have also recently got a new job working at Apple and the training has just kicked in, taking up most of my evenings. So basically I am out of the house from 8.30am until 11pm.
