Due to several reasons i am seriously considering retiring from collecting Tcats:( so maybe i have some nice things for sale in the near future!
I hope that there’s not a woman behind this.
Whatever the case is, think about it twice…
Yeah, i am mostly disappointed with the current statues of Tcats, i was waiting for a big hit with the NS and a crazy surge of great products to accompany it.
The sudden stop will affect the fans’ enthusiasm and collecting, this comes as a reasonable outcome, still some old vintage items are gems and are never for sale, at least for me.
So i agree with DR slump keep your most valuable pieces.
If you do decide to start selling things Sir please get in touch…
Well, sorry to hear that Maarten.. but, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do… And dont sell everything (if you dont need the money) cos you WILL regret it!

Many of you know that I retired from collecting the classics for quite a few years now. Matter of fact many forum members have some of the rarest pieces that I used to own..Thunderwings Lion O, graded Luna lasher Mumm-ra, and the list oges on. Truth is that for me it was a matter of getting burnt out. I pretty much had an almost complete carded collection and did so within a very short time. Collecting them was not fun any more and the fact that space limitations prevented me from properly displaying them made it a bit easier for me to stop collecting. I still and will always enjoy the classics but I actually dont regret selling them because I know all my pieces went to great collectors and in the process I transitioned into a different collecting realm in the way of coins and precious metals. I still have a few classic items in the basement…still have the Thundercats Big Wheel (with a beat up box) a MIB Mum-ras tomb, Boxed cat’s Lair and a few others.
In the end if circumstances lead to retiring from collecting make sure it is a good one and that you dont feel it is a mistake. Sometimes all it takes is just selling a few pieces to realize that retiring from collecting Thundercats is not so bad after all…of course so long as you put your energy towards something you will enjoy

If a woman REALLY truly loves you then you shouldn’t have to sell off a single thing. Sounds like she’s just trying to slowly mold you into what only she wants you to be in life. If she has to make you sell off all your thundercats/other stuff then she isn’t for you. And they’ll be problems down the road from this as well. Where everything will be fine when she’s hearing everything she wants. But grow a backbone and watch the **** hit the fan. And yes I’m fully aware things can go both ways in this.
I just don’t see how it can be real love if you’re forced to sell off something that makes you -you-. It’s like your having to be something your not just to have her in your life. That really doesn’t sound right to me. This is coming from a woman by the way.
Comprise most of the time on both sizes really never is that a LOT. It’s usually just one side trying to slowly get there way 100%.
She should at least accept the whole being a thundercats fan and having the toys/etc. Doesn’t have to like it but at lease accept it. I’m sure there’s things you may not like about her that you’ll have to accept too.

Sorry I’m just really really sick of hearing about this crap and how some men/women are treated like this. And it’s usually so one-sided too.
Thanks for concerning, but like i said in the start of this thread, it’s a mix of many reasons that makes me think of retiring collecting. I have taken this hobby way to serious. I am spending hours and hours after my pc, going to flea markets and stuff, just to find that special Tcats that i can add to my collection. My collection is or was expanding very rapidly. I haven’t got the room anymore, so they pop up in every room now, which make my wife not so happy. I cost me to much energy, money and time at the moment. I also have 3 kids, that i want to spent more time with. I tried do it more easy before. But that is not an option. There’s no “grey zone” for me, It’s either everything or nothing. That’s just the kind of person i am. But… i’m thinking of keeping my rarest pieces.
I think a lot of us love the thrill of the hunt. Once you get to a certain point with any line, there is a limit to where you can go. Are you out of toys all together or are you planning on something else?
Dude I used to be the same way. I was all over the place. Constantly buying. There’s a point where you have to say “enough is enough”. Some collectors will always say “ignore people who don’t understand you”. But there’s a point when ignoring people becomes “being obsessed” yourself. It can turn into a serious disability real quickly. There’s a thin line between collector and hoarder.
You will never feel as good in life as when you get rid of all of your collection, and it’s not bad if you keep a few pieces. I’ve slowly been trickling my collection down to about 10-20 figures(items) that roughly fit into a space of a 3x4 foot cupboard. I’m not arguing that you should do the same, but it has become incredibly liberating for me. And it helps to not ALWAYS be thinking about toys all the time, it was getting exhausting. Goodluck with your decisions man.
