Do any of you guys know how to repaint Lion-o’s face? Mine is a redhead Lion-o but the face was repainted with a similar orange paint a while back when I was a kid. The results were not pretty. Lion-o looks like a screaming drag queen with a heavy dose of mascara. I was planning to give it another try. I don’t want to give up on this particular figure because this is the one that my mom bought for me when I was 10. Any tips?
Can you show us how it looks now? I have repainted my Glasslite Tygra a few months ago and the results are very nice. I just found the right paint and painted on it.
If your paintjob is bad, I recommend you to take it off with a solvent… And then paint it again if you have the right color. I used enamel paint from the brand Revell, but that’s only because I don’t have other option! I’ve heard that the brand TESTORS that are best. You’ve find them easily if you live in the USA.
I’m out of state for a few months. So when I get back, I’ll get Lion-o out of the basement. Back then I used a thick brush. Does anyone know the exact colors of the original figure?
The best thing you could do is take the figure to the store and compare the colors. That’s what I did with my Glasslite Tygra.

Just remember this is a Glasslite Tygra, made in Brazil. It is not as good as a LJN one. I also restored his arm socket that broke when he fell from the 7th floor…
I used 3 different paints: face, toes and hands, “jacket” and arms.
Wow 7th floor!! Who push him off the balcony? Snarf? Excellent work! did not even noticed that it was a non-LJN. Did u air-brush it? Also did you have to take it apart? I was thinking about lightly air-brush my Lion-o and then use a heat gun to get an even finish. Of course, I could be wrong and it might turnout like Thundera’s Michael Jackson or even melt the whole damn thing. You did a magnificent job fixing the arm socket. This is great information for those of us who are buying used figures and are trying to restore them. Thanks a million!!!
No… that was my raging mom! 
I just painted it with a soft brush and lots of care! If you do have one air-brush and know how to use it, go ahead, I’m sure the results will be much better! But on my case, I don’t have one and the face is a tricky place to paint!
I had luck when I bought my used Thundercats from eBay, because they only had small paint rub that could easily be fixed!
About the arm socket, fortunately Glasslite Thundercats are “screwed” (ok, I know, I know), I mean, they have screws on their backs so its easy to disassemble them. This allowed me to use a “cement” that is used in pipes that leak (unfortunately it’s difficult to find that apoxy sculpt here in Portugal) and then I just had to carve it (and paint).
When you decide to fix your childhood Lion-O, make sure you take some pictures of it and share your experience, I’m sure some reader might find the information useful!

yeah ill be 26 in december and I collect thundercats, comics and other 80s toys I thought I was alone at first but your not, there are tons of websites and conventions that cater to this hobby.

I’m sure its a nightmare to think that one day you wake up and you find all the figures taken out by your dog or kid. LOL. But seriously, where did you get most of your MOC figures, ebay?
Most of us get our fix from Ebay. If we were to go piece by piece on how much it cost it would discourage collectors out there. Lets just say that Between a MOC Bengali and a MIB Tongue-a-Saurus you can easily expect over $600 on both
I’m very protective of my carded figures. They are stored in my bedroom where the door is closed all day, unless my mum go in there to put clothes away or I’m in there.
I have cats, but I do not let them into my Thundercats stuff, besides it’s well protected anyway so if they did go near it, it’s unlikely they could damage it.
Unfortunately non of my collection is on display as I do not have the space to do that really. If your real careful then you shouldn’t have any problem.
Of course kids and dogs are an hassle, which is why I have neither! lol
