Resigning

Ok, I’m going to try not to ramble too much but no guarantees.

Basically, been mulling things for a while. And what I’ve concluded is, aside from the usual that plagues just about everyone else (super busy, big changes, personal drama, an overall crappy year blah blah - won’t bore you), I’ve spread myself too thin. So combined with the other garbage going on I said I wouldn’t bore you with, it’s catching up to me. Some of that ****, I have no control over but I can cut some fat elsewhere. Selfishly, maybe, but I gotta start somewhere.

What this means is, I gotta step down from the team at TCL.org
Good news is, I’ve done very little so I doubt this will have much impact (for that I apologize, but it does go as a good case as to why I ought to just shove off than be dead weight), but I do think this is called for rather than going on hiatus. If I just took time away, I’d still have a nagging feeling I wasn’t filling an obligation, and so I think this is for the best over all. I’m going to be sending a similar message to other sites where I volunteered without being very sensible. Shamefully, there are too many to list, in more than one fandom. Purrsia needs to learn the magic of no :duh:

The selfish part is yes, I’m going to use what little time I have of leisure time online anymore to focus on my own sites which are now falling more behind than ever. ****, I’ve had a security update for my galleries ready to go for a week and nope, not uploaded yet. That’s like begging to be hacked. So yeah, if I’m falling behind on my own sites’ backend mundania, this is not good. Something has to give.

Of course, don’t get out the party hats yet lol
I’m not leaving the fandom. I’ll be around here and elsewhere as an occassionally posting fan, but I’m stepping down from all my seats of responsibility where I can at this time (a few projects I’m seeing through, but anyway, about not boring you…), including here. I don’t think it’s fair to the team or myself to pretend like I can ‘do it all’. To paraphrase Cheetara, I thought there was something left in the reserves but there just…isn’t.

And about not rambling - let’s wrap that up. I leave here embarrassed at my relative shittiness as a team member and poor productivity, but over all no regrets. It was nice getting to know all of you and proving that first impressions maybe aren’t always correct. Thanks for letting me have a chance to be on the team.

Good luck with TCL - you should be proud of yourselves

Oh Angie, it’s shocking really to see you go. I can understand though where you are coming from and only hope that in the future you would consider coming on again. It’s been a pleasure having you on the team and you have provided us much help (wether you believe it or not), and we really are thankful. I’m gonna really miss your long posts and your straightforward ways. I really dont know what else to say as it has caught me personally by surprise yet i totally undertand. You take much care and we will see you around

I’d usually try to convince someone in this scenario to change their minds, but I know you have been extremely busy lately and I totally understand.

You have been a help with stuff and have contributed. Don’t put yourself down.

Anyway will miss you, but we can stay in touch on msn  Good luck with everything!

I totally understand how your feeling, I have often questioned how much I am able to contribute to the site during mega busy times. I am sure I speak for the team when I say there will always be a warm seat waiting here at thundercatslair.org if you feel you have more time.

Thanks for the help you have provided and please keep in touch on the boards.

Take care Kyle

Chris here…

Ooookaaaay, definitely did not see this one coming - like MannyC, I’m really shocked! :yikes: That said, Angie, I completely understand and respect your reasons for taking this decision - like yourself I too am lousy at saying no and am always overstretched (as Neil will testify, as it’s been probably about 10 years since I last spoke to him on Skype/MSN, LOL!), so I can understand where you’re coming from for sure.

You might not feel that you’ve contributed much, but IMO you’ve contributed a great deal - you talk a lot of wisdom and common sense, and have longstanding, extensive experience of ThunderFandom which we’ve certainly been able to utilise. Plus, you’ve pulled my ass out the fire helping me with some of the Episode Guide HTML - those pages you did have really helped to get that project rolling again! So, like Neil says, don’t put yourself down!

And on a personal note, you really helped me feel better about something from within ThunderFandom that had been bugging me - I’m sure you remember what that was, LOL! It really has been a pleasure working with you, you are a credit to yourself and I only hope that if in the future things settle down sufficiently you might consider coming back to the team here at TCL.

Take care…

Angie, good luck in the future. Hope things work out for you

Sorry to hear you go Angie. :frowning: Don’t say that you haven’t contributed because I know that Chris definitely begs to differ. Thanks for all the work you did for us. Hopefully, you’ll be able to work out everything and may be we’ll see you again helping with the site.

Thanks everyone.

If anyone does want to know the details, feel free to skype me sometime. Yes, the busy alrert is always up as skype is also our sole phone service, so I am not always at the comp when it’s running, but you can try. If I’m there, I’ll respond. If not well..you know I’m afk

Also, I’ve no problem helping in regards to cross posting or promoting things on this site via announcements on mine, so if you have anything like that going on (eg the LK petition) let me know and I’d be happy to direct people’s attention to it. I am going to try to keep my site updated so that shouldn’t be too hard to do. Just let me know.

See ya round.

Sorry to read all this Angie, but totally understand your desire to simplify life. I’d just suggest not closing the door entirely on staying with the team. I took a long time off to get my life sorted but the team graciously accepted me back when I was able to dedicate time again.

Chris here…

Hey Mark, I’m not sure if Angie is still able to access this Team Forum anymore, as she no longer has the “TCL Team Member” tag under her username - my suggestion would be you fire her a PM. I spoke to her via that method last night and so can confirm she’s still getting those!

Take care…
