Hey, anyones paypal bank settings been changed?? they changed my default from “instant bank transfer” to “echeque” which sucks cos i gotta wait 7-9 days for payment to clear and its sooooo frustrating coming up towards xmas. Anyone else had this problem or only me and if so have you got any advice. Thanks for your time.
Same thing happened to me. I emailed PayPal support and found out the problem is that my credit card on file with them which is my “back up funding source”, expired.
So the three payments I sent out with just my bank account as my primary went through as E-checks, and they took like 5 days to clear.
I just added another valid credit card as my new back up source, and payed for an item (I finally got a mint L/C Driller!, yay), and it went through as in instant transfer.
Perhaps this is your problem as well, that you don’t have a valid back up source?
Anyways, I hope this helps. I hate waiting as well.
Hey mate, turns out that was the same problem i had, my credit card expired and i didnt renew it with paypal..silly me!

yea unfortunetly i had to use it twice. Once more recently regarding my super nintendo i sold with 15 games all classics, and the person i sent it too said he didnt receive it. I still dont believe him though everything ive sent through royal mail has always reached its destination. So i had to refund him and claim off royal mail, luckily i got my money but i still question whether this guy recieved my goods. I didnt use recorded delivery which is my fault so ill always be using recorded delivery from now on! Just a little tip for yous if anyone sells on ebay.
Oh yeah, delivery confirmation is a must. Unfortunately, oversea tracking is pricey.
There are a few musts you must do to cover yourself against fraud. Confirmed address, tracking info (delivery confirmation is usually not enough), and insurance. Problem is that all those things cut into your profits and so with that being said when selling on Ebay I am a firm believer in adding those things towards the shipping price.
Those things are almost a must with Ebay nowadays. Ebay has become a haven for crooks and thieves. The days are over when you could simply sell something without much worrying about getting “taken”
Unfortunately Manny is totally right about eBay. But, I think the problem is not limited there alone, there are many scammers lurking on toy forums too. If you don’t take all the neccessary steps to cover yourself you’ll likely get scammed (be you a buyer or seller).
I REALLY miss the old days of trading and corresponding via snail mail where everyone was friendly and trustworthy. Toy collecting has changed significantly over the last 10+ years.
