I thought there was a thread about this other than in the marketplace, but I couldn’t find it. I think there’s been some discussion on weather it was produced, or a prototype. Well, a friend on another forum picked up this bad boy for 99 cents, as it was named wrong. I offered him $2!

Sweet find! I have only ever seen 2 on Ebay, one was loose but the other was MOC so I am sure were produced. They must have made very few though.

I don’t really think that putting any chain on would be very honest and i certainly hope people don’t actually do that sort of thing!!
Well, if someone did that and sold it without disclosing it as a customization, I agree. However, if it was just something you wanted to do to a piece in your own collection because you like the look of it, I don’t see the harm in it. It’s no different than any other sort of customizing.

I just found another red chain monkian on ebay. Seller states full knowledge of the fake chain only being sold by others. What does everyone think?
Sorry to raise a dead post, but I wanted to share my AFA “red chain” variant Monkian with everyone. I wish it would have seen a little higher grade, and don’t necessarily agree with the AFA60, but it is what it is, and its protected now, which it what really matters!
