I know there was a thread at somepoint entertaining the thought of a ThunderCats/SilverHawks crossover, but I want to know if I’m the only one who’s ever thought about what a ThunderCats, TigerSharks and SilverHawks crossover would be like?
If this was already discussed, forgive me. Otherwise, any thoughts?

Yeah, someone mentioned this. I believe the idea was talked about, but it never reached fruition because SilverHawks & TigerSharks didn’t perform as well (ratings-wise) as ThunderCats. TCL member, AlexofThundera posted this rare pic last November:

Nice. I’d say it’s fan made, but cool nonetheless. For old times sake, even if it were a ThunderCats special, it’d be nice to see our heros from all three universes share the same screen.
This could easily happen in the new cartoon!
The Silverhawks could be an interstellar police force like Mandora was in the Thundercat series.
The Tigersharks could simply be good aquatic mutants living in the oceans of Third Earth.
Scaryharpy’s concept isn’t bad in itself, but I personally think a one-shot crossover would be more of an epic event due to the fact that we’re also talking about Mumm-Ra, MonStar and T-Ray, along with their underlings sharing screen time for the first time ever!
I wouldn’t want an epic one-shot with all the characters. I would want many small adventures.
I would like the Thundercats to fight MonStar’s mob with and without the Silverhawks.
I would like the Thundercats to fight T-Ray’s mantannas with and without the Tigersharks.
I would like the Thundercats and the Tigersharks to mistrust each other and etcetera.
Most important, I want the Thundercats to have new villains to fight aside from Mumm-ra, the Mutnats and the Lunatacs who appeared in too many episodes.
You are right on the money with this statement, which is why the Lunatacs should be relegated to one, two at the most, 5 part story arcs. Then banish them (and preferably Bengali and Pumyra along with them) back to Dark Side, never to be heard from in this series again.
This concept honestly best suited for a 1 shot, either an hour long t.v. special or maybe a couple of them. Also I don’t know that there’s enough time for the entire cast of Thundercats, AND the Silverhawks, AND the TigerSharks. I could see two seperate crossovers, one with Thundercats and Silverhawks and the other with Thundercats and Tigersharks…but trying to fit in lines and screen time for anybody other than a handful of the major characters just won’t do the concept any justice. Even trying to squeeze in all of the major characters in a 5 part arc would be, in my opinion, character overload.
I don’t know what the potential is for either of the other two Rankin/Bass shows being brought back, but I’d say Silverhawks stands a MUCH better chance than Tigersharks. Other than maybe, MAYBE a cameo by Mako looking for assistance to help fight off T-Ray…I’d say you’ve seen the last of the TigerSharks.
And in regards to that last statement, some people might say “well people thought that about Thundercats but they are coming back”. Comparing the fanbase and popularity of Thundercats to Tigersharks is like comparing the quarterbacking skills of Joe Montana to those of Ryan Leaf. Anything’s possible, but I wouldn’t want Tigersharks and Silverhawks taking away screen time from the Thundercats for more than perhaps a 1 hour t.v. special or for the respective story arcs I described above. There just isn’t enough time or demand for anything otherwise, and too much time and effort needs to be put into making this a phenomenal Thundercats series.

Depending on the circumstances, the Thundercats, Silverhawks, and Tigersharks may work at cross-purposes. They may also mistrust each other.
Why? The Silverhawks are police. The Thundercats are survivors. The Tigersharks are researchers, I think. Who said the good guys must be friends?
If the Tigersharks are reconceptualized as ‘good mutants’, why would they like the Thundercats? Since when have cats and fish been friends.
Just my thoughts.
It sounds nice on paper, and I don’t mean to disrespect your thoughts, but to me it would cheapen the show bringing in all of those other characters that aren’t inherently in the Thundercats universe for that many episodes.
I’m not totally against the idea though. In fact, it would make for a great way to start a season. But that season needs to be season 3 or 4, if the new show even makes it that far.
Pulling in these characters would be a great way to refresh a show dropping in ratings. So if the show last onto a 3rd or 4th season, it would be a great advertising campaign that might draw in some new viewers to reminisce on Silverhawks (cough cough and TigerSharks…if there’s even enough fans of that show out there to boost the ratings by 1 point). That is kind of an ace in the hole concept that, if done any earlier, IMO would be a wasted opportunity.
This more or less would be identical to how the new Thunderians were introduced in Season 2, how the new Transformers were introduced after the movie, and how pretty much almost every other set of new characters was introduced in a later season of an 80s show. Although the BIGGEST reason these happened in every one of those shows was toy driven. I don’t think that would be the case this time as action figures don’t have near the impact on a show’s success as they did in the 80s.
Still, I could see Season 3 opening with a 5 part story arc where the Silverhawks are either driven out to, or are chasing Monstarr to 3rd earth. What would REALLY be cool would be to see Monstarr and Mumm-Ra transform simultaneously.
Honestly though I can’t ever see TigerSharks coming back. I don’t even remember that show coming on as a kid. I just know about it from discovering it later on in life. Inhumanoids has a better chance of coming back somewhere than TigerSharks. I could potentially see the Silverhawks crossover though.
The only thing I would look forward to if they did do a TigerSharks crossover, is Safari Joe being in the episode. Those could be the ‘aqua cats’ that he’s hunted all over 3rd Earth.
Well those are creative ideas but i think in the Unicorn episode, i think it was the unicorn from The Last Unicorn herself as a guest. Or how about a Flight of Dragons crossover where Omahadon battles the Thundercats?
Is there anyone else on this board who has never seen Tiger Sharks, or am I the only one? I grew up in Oklahoma, and to the best of my knowledge it was never aired on any station in my area…

I’ve seen TigerSharks here in the U.S. It was part of a 1-hour cartoon collection called “The Comic Strip”.
I remember in an episode of Thundercats with Mandora, the Evilchaser mentioned “The Penal Planet”: a prison within an asteroid. This was the same prison featured in Silverhawks.
Silverhawks tok place in the future since Earth no longer had thundercats. I always believed there should’ve been a Silverhawk that was of Thunderian descendant.
They didn’t air in Greece but they were popular VHS rentals in the early 90s.
@Evilchaser NYC You’re absolutely right about the prison planet/asteroid. However, I don’t know if it was supposed to be a distant future or past era, since the Earth has no chronological title mentioned (4th Earth for example).
There was also a strong reference about a TC element in TigerSharks but I’m not able to recover that memory.
Thought this thread was worth a bump, especially with a reference or crossover with the Silverhawks in the new show being alluded to. Anyways counting how heavy sci-fi Thundercats is, Silverhawks would fit in rather nicely, in fact its odd we didn’t see stuff like Captain Cracker or Mandora on Silverhawks. Tigersharks I didn’t even know existed until this topic, but I guess it can also fit easily a crossover would have been interesting.
One question, how has Silverhawks aged? When I re-watched Thundercats recently its definitely aged and it was hard to get through at times but it had an interesting enough mythology that kept me going. With that in mind, is Silverhawks similar to say the first season of thundercats? Thats what I’m guessing but how is the mythology? is it interesting? Because if it isn’t I’m not sure I’d be able to tolerate it. What about Tigersharks? counting it had a very short run I’m sure I could watch through it easily however the problem is I can’t find any copies of the show online..
I’m not familiar with Tigersharks either, but I adored SilverHawks as much as I loved TCats and would love to see some guest appearances.

I rewatched a few episodes of it when it was being re-run on Cartoon Network in 2000. I remember not liking it nearly as well as I did when it was originally being aired. It seemed to me that Silver Hawks was aimed a slightly younger audience than Thundercats was (which was also being aired after Silver Hawks so I had a good basis of comparison). I stopped watching Silver Hawks after 5 or so episodes.
This is not to say that I wouldn’t buy a DVD release of Silver Hawks.
I remember Tiger Sharks, it was after Silver Hawks. But what I remember is that the show lasted really a fw eps (I think only one season), and these were some humans that were doing something in a submarine base, and to fight a Manta-Ray kind of villain, they got into a pool or a jacuzzi or something like that that turned them into some fish-like humanoids, or humans with fish charatceristics, or something like that, but they were not mutants like the TCs, neither cybernetic humans like SH, just regular humans that transformed themselves each time.
