[FONT=Calibri][SIZE=3]There’s something that’s been bugging me the past few episodes. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the scene in Sight Beyond Sight where Snarf watches the elephants disappearing into the hut. Obviously, the elephants were going into the astral plane. The hut is too small to fit all of them plus why would they go in there normally when the only thing in there was a broom? But then that begs the questions, why did they go into the astral plane and how did they do it? If they already knew that the hut was a gateway into the astral plane then why did they not tell Lion-o before sending him to the forest? They couldn’t have just forgotten the hut was a gateway because then why did some of the elephants use the gateway earlier in the episode. The only feasible explanation I can think of is that maybe the elephants like to go to the astral plane to meditate and they have some innate ability to enter into the astral plane since they are the guardians of the gateway. Perhaps they simply chose not to tell Lion-o this so he would end up growing in his abilities. If this theory were true though it would have been nice if the writers threw in a line somewhere to establish this.[/SIZE][/FONT]
What if the Elephants use the huts as gateways all over Third Earth?
No idea where they went, but it wasn’t the astral plane.
It just occurred to me. Could the huts be temporal gates?
I don’t think the huts themselves are gateways, I believe that the elephants merely forgot about the astral plane when they sent Lion-O to the forest just as they forget so many other things. They could have used it for meditation and such, that seems the most likely explanation there.
They probably gained the use of the astral plane back when the stones were originally scattered by the settlers on Third Earth. Might have been a duel edged sword, they get an affinity for the astral plane through the stone but their short term memories start failing. Now that Lion-O has the stone and is taking it away they may start remembering again, who knows?
