I gotta say, I thought the love triangle between Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Wolverine was quite strong! The relationship between Rogue and Gambit was definately not one I would call “subtle”, with all due respect. Gambit was freakin’ Pepe Lepu! Rogue was the ultimate tease! When the romance wasn’t “boldly” present, it was certainly implied. Not to mention Wolverine, now and then, running into old flames like Lady Deathstrike and Silver Fox.
In FF, aside from Reed and Sue Richards, Johnny Storm had a pretty tender relationship with Crystal from The Inhumans, as well as Ben Grimm and Alicia Masters. There’s also the crush that Namor has on Sue Storm in that two-parter, and the love relationship between Black Bolt and Medusa in the “Inhumans Saga” and another episode they were featured.
However, these things, for the most part, were a side-plot and were not done in such a way that undermined the core of the series. Same with Thundercats(imo).
Haha pepe lepue. I like it! Yeah that love triangle was in it, it had to be because it was a primary part of the x men lore, and again I agree about gambit and rogue. However, like you said, when it was present, which overall was not a lot in relation to the series as a whole, most of it was simply implied, and did not overtake the story or the action. Plus x men had a very large cast and apart from the occassional one off for beast or whoever, most of them weren’t getting paired off,In wolverines case it was quite often a case of ok, we used to date, now let’s get on with trying to kill eachother! unlike thundercats, were panthro is the only adult character left who isn’t being paire off and even he’s getting fed up with it! Whilst thundercats has walked that fine line so far, it is starting to step over it too much in my opinion and they should hold back on the flirting and the romance. Keep cheetara and tygras relationship strong, but implied and in the background (it needs nothing more than a second or two of a hand hold or a glance or a single statement) and concentrate on developing cheetara as an individual not just as half of a couple, and stop the flirting and the hinting with pumyra and liono and concentrate on the action and the primary plotlines.
How many were they in The X-Men? Nine, right? With Pumyra now in the team, that’s seven Thundercats. If Lynx-O and Bengali are to be added in the second season, that’s nine Thundercats. A larger Thundercats cast this would now make.
Anyway, let’s see how tomorrow’s episode balances things out in this subject we are discussing…
Yeah, screw that. I got all my money on Pumyra and you couldn’t even blackmail me into switching. (honestly I do really like Cheetara. I just like Pumyra better.)
It’s understandable, especially if you watched the OS. I’m a huge fan of her, but I can see where her attitude can get annoying to some people. However, I don’t know how you could hate her or call her insufferable because she did forgive Lion-O in the end.
