Prototypes coming soon

Jordan Hembrough from Hollywood heroes has just contacted me and he wants me to call him back concerning over 70 prototype items. I will attempt to get as many pictures as I can and will extend free advertising via front page if need be. This is too good to be true. Be ready to droooool everyone.

Chris here…

Seems that request in the podcast for prototype photos really worked, MannyC - you’re getting responses even before the podcast is released to the public!

Seriously, those are way cool pieces - I’d love to see as many as possible!

Take care…

Perhaps he’s psychic?

or his ears were burning saturday night?

Amazing pics by the way! How weird is that, that these pop up just after we made that podcast, weird… :jaw:

That is too weird. I will keep everyone updated as to the pieces there are which is around 70 or so and what is in it. I am contemplating now selling a portion of my collection to finance the purchase of some of the items. I am hoping for a Mad Bubbler (fingers crossed) but I will try to get my hands on some of the items. More to come…also note that the prototypes pictured are Quick Jaws and Cannon Blaster

Those photos are awesome Manny! I can’t wait to see more!

excellent photos. Cant wait to see more. I just emailed a guy via his mini mummras lair on ebay at the moment so we will see what happens as well.

Are these prototypes of unreleased figures? Can we get the story that goes along with these too?

Thanks
an excited Mark

More contact from Jordan today and we will be in touch as more stuff comes in. I received new pictures from him and will hopefully get some more very soon. He has asked the owner if he has Red Eye as well as the Mad Bubbler so more to come. However Jordan informed me that Cannon Blaster was not supposed to be named Cannon Blasetr but Master Blaster.
Mark if you are reading this he told me he also will be receiving some animation art as well as some other art related items. I have already offered advertisng for the front page once evrything is in place. In the mean time here are more attached pics

Yes Mark they were unreleased and its the first time these pics have surfaced. I will be selling a portion of my collection to finance purchasing some tiems. In the mean time he hasnt received the items yet but is constantly receiving pictures. They have inked a deal to broker the collection in the next 12 months. being that i am in touch with him to provide him info on the items hopefully i can get in on the sale before it goes public

Chris here…

THIS is the sort of stuff that inspires me with this site! MannyC these are amazing and you are a legend - I very much hope that we will be able to host pics of some (or maybe all???) of these items on the site, and would actively endorse you using whatever means necessary to be able to host them!!

That Thundertank pic I find fascinating - is that the 'Tank with different treads to the ones on the finalised version?!

Take care…

I have to say that the Thundertank is a test shot. So far Jordan has been helpful. He also asked me what the scorpion looking vehicle is, perhaps anybody can remember something similar from the cartoon but i dont remember. I will be in constant contact with him and he will basically be consulting me for information on the items and to identify items and any important info.

He will be providing me with more pictures as he gets them straight from the LJN employee. He did confirm that the items he will be receiving total to more than 200 items so it may take a while to get it all together

Chris here…

The nearest thing I can think of off the top of my head would be whether it was a very, very early incarnation of what became the Technopede, which appeared in both “Turmagar the Tuska” and “Mechanical Plague” - however, it’s a very tentative connection and not a very good likeness. I’ll keep thinking though!

Take care…

Well this is kind of not on topic here kind of is. I have been talking to a guy that has a complete set of protos for the kidworks mummras tomb. This includes an unreleased mummra fig, solid coffin, proto box art and of course the actual tomb. He said that we can use the pics on our site, and he is sending me the pics he has of the mini cats lair proto as well. These additions will be excellent for the minis section or even the proto section as I believe we would be the only site to showcase minis prototypes. I will make a write up on them all once I have all the info and the lair pics. I am hoping someone will be able to upload them for me into the prototype section (as I still dont know how to do that stuff, I have to get on the ball and learn)

Thanks in advance. Also Manny does Jordan have any idea on when he is selling these items or how much they are going to sell for becasue I am super interested. Going on past protos they sold for about a few hundred but those were released figs not unreleased.

Chris here…

This thread just gets cooler and cooler, I love it! Nice one Matt, looking forward to seeing this amazing stuff online! And with that, I’m off to bed, LOL!

Take care…

Well Matt I spoke to Jordan today ( he called me at work) and I asked if he had the items in hand. Basically what is happening right now is the beggining stages of a deal they have inked with the LJN employee. The owner of the pieces is supplying images right now and I would imagine once they have an accurate idea of what the inventory is they will with receiving the items and such. I dont know how their deal is or how it will pan out but they have inked an exclusive deal to broker the pieces in the next 12 months. He doesnt have the pieces right now, he didnt go into much detail as to how the pieces will be sold but I dont think it will be thru Ebay and it may simply be thru their store. I am inclined to take a trip to New Jersey once they receive the items to take a look at th items and if I have enough funds to purchase some as well. So to answer your question he is receiving information and pictrue of the items, unfortunately no info on when and how much they will sell and a specific time the items will sell. I would advise not to contact him to ask these type of questions as he may get a bit ticked off about it.

Basically right now I am providing him insight on the toys he receives pictures of. Being that we are probably the most reputable source for Thundercats toys out there he is seeking the best knowledge possible. Not only that but he knows we will provide advertising when the time comes.

I’m of course very interested to know what animation art, production art pieces etc. he has. Conceptual art whether for the toys or the show is always of interest to me too…

This is the most exciting thing thats happened on the site in ages… very cool stuff Manny, thanks for keeping us appraised.

I know I’m definitely more of an art collector but I have a ThunderCats toy collection too (all loose, scuffed, non rare toys) and I’d still spend some money on some of these prototypes and test shots. Is there a chance that once these guys set some prices, that they’ll give the site first crack at buying them? Cause that would kick ass.

Mark

Im hoping that with the advertisement incentive we can get a first crack at buying items. I already mentioned your name to Jordan and that you may be interested in buying some of the animation art. I’m hoping we can be first to know of prices and dates when they will start selling so we can get first chances at the important items. I’ll keep everyone updated

Small update…Red Eye Toy Art

Red Eye Box Art.jpg

Chris here…

:jaw: I’ve often wondered what Red Eye’s box art would have been like, now we know! It also gives an insight into what his action feature would have been - amazing! :jaw:

Take care…

That’s a good point! :yikes: He must have been planned to have the throwing discus like we had originally thought.

Amazing stuff Manny

Im sure there is more amazing stuff to come. When i find out about the sale of the items I will have to unload some of my rare pieces to come up with the funds. I would like to at least own the prototypes for Cannon Blaster and Quick Jaws. Who knows if there is a Mad Bubbler, I am starting to think now with this stuff that has turned up that a Mad Bubbler could very well come up for sale. If thats so I’ll have to say goodbye to my 8 back collection as well as the Tongue a Saurus and Thunderwings Lion-O. I could eventually complete another 8 back collector and get another Tongue a Saurus but the chance to own a Mad Bubbler or one of the Berzerker Prototypes is a one in a lifetime thing.

If Jordan approves I am willing to fly down to New Jersey to conduct an exclusive interview, collect photos and so forth.By the way Mark I already threw your name out there to him about animation art
