So I have decided that I have amassed a nice enough L/C collection to put them on display. I am looking for something nice, cheap, but most importantly something that will protect the figures. Meaning that the shelves must be enclosed in order to prevent a figure from falling and breaking if it falls all the way to the floor.
I’ve worked with Acrylic before and can attest to its strength, and it is also cheap. Here is something I found that would be perfect, if it only was 2-3" taller. I measured my Grune figure and he comes in at a tad over 7".
This would be the best as it is completely enclosed, with doors on the front for each shelf and everything. The measurements are: 4 shelves that are 19-3/4"L x 5"D x 6"H. It also features a full mirror back
The company says that they do custom work, so I am going to get an estimate on the same display shelf, but at 9" tall.
Does anyone know what the tallest figure in the Thundercats line is?
Also, does anyone have a good enclosed display shelf, and if so, where did you purchase it, and for how much, if you don’t mind me asking.
They want $129.99 for this one as is, without the custom height.
I’m hoping to set up my toy display room soon, as well. I’m on the lookout for the best way to display my Thundercats, He-man, GI Joe and Transformers. Thundercats will on average be the tallest figures, but a few Transformers come in at around a foot tall (or more). I’ll come back to this post with whatever shelves I find are best.
I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, finally found the proper place and money to set up my Thundercats Statues and the AFA Lion-o exactly as i had imagined, I thought to link the past with the present… and it looks pretty awesome!!
Alex, do you have an IKEA close by? They have a few nice display options that are well built and reasonably priced. The one featured in Lordore’s post is the Detolf from IKEA.
I have 5 Detolfs for my Star Wars collectibles and am very happy with them. I’d also recommend just shopping around at your local furniture stores and seeing what they offer. You might just get lucky!

Ikea is great! I just went to one last weekend and got a new bookcase and kitchen table/chairs lol. All my display cabinets came from there too, much nicer looking than old jewelry cases and much cheaper than custom display cases available elsewhere.

This is the second Glass-Door cabinet i got from IKEA to set up my Thundercats collection and it’s really great, it isn’t taking up much space and the cool thing is that you can also illuminate it by placing a lamp on top, It’s nice and cozy and will work perfect for any collection! The price is resonable too
