The sound blog is pretty awesome. Jeff even got his cat, Samson, to record for him!
No seriously, the whole thing is awesome. We rarely hear from the people who do the sound effects. And the sound effects in this new show are some of the best out there in american animation at the moment.

Yeah it’s so very rare to get so much information on how these shows are made. It’s all very interesting and I love reading about it.
Nice blog. However, if I were you, I would take down the spoiler-picture with your cat and the young lion-o. Damn, I could swear that you almost revealed a flashback-episode.. ;>
That wasn’t a young Lion-O with his cat. That was one of the Thunderians in the lynch mob that Lion-O protected the Lizards from.
Welcome, Jeff! Your blog makes for an interesting read. I had a few questions, but a couple have already been answered. First, I liked the sound for the reptilian mechs and wondered how you did them, and that was answered in the blog. Incoming shell whine, eh? Clever.
Also I was going to say that the only thing that would make this show perfect would have been the inclusion of a Wilhelm Scream every now and then. I was going to ask if you would use it, but then I saw you already did in “Ramlak Rising!” So all I could think was, “Perfect!” 
I would like to know, though, if you plan on working-in classic sound effects from other Sci-Fi movies as audio Easter Eggs for the show? For example, it’d be cool to hear the iconic sound of the heat ray of the Martian war machine from the 1953 The War of the Worlds in there. Or maybe for some of the bigger monsters, you could use the roars of classic kaijus like Rodan, King Ghidorah, Gamera, Gaos or Gigan. (The old show sometimes made use of them too come to think of it).

Very sure. He’s one of the cats in the mob. For one thing you see him clearly in the premiere episode. Secondly Lion-O doesn’t have Brown hair, and Thirdly Jeff even says in the blog, “In the final fight scene a small cat turns and gives a very worried ‘meow’ just before Tygra punches him in the face (yikes!)”
And if that’s not proof enough, here, this is the same character:

Now that you’ve suggested it, I just might! I’m all about working in fan suggestions (and that’s a great one).
You guys are the ones who are excited about the show and if we can collaborate WITH you by taking those kinds of things into consideration as we do our work… well, I think that would be something pretty rare. We are deep into season 1 right editorial right now so there will be a bit of a delay, but keep your ears open for it later in the season. I’ll do my best.

Yeah saw that. Most of the characters are recognizable. the Lizards, Claudus, Snarf, Lion-O…but the guy directly behind the Lizards…I’m not sure. It could be Grune (most likely is), but when I first looked it kinda screamed “Monkian” at me.
It doesn’t match up with Grune perfectly, but it is hard to tell. I too thought Monkian at first glance.
I don’t suppose anyone that’s already signed up to post over there would mind asking the crew the question on whether or not we’ll be seeing any of Tygra’s mind powers or illusion throwing ability explored in this series?
It seems to be a question that keeps popping up on this forum over and over again.
For a question like that their answer is usually “watch the show to find out!” or something. The only clear cut answers they usually give are ones about shows that have already aired.
