Problems on cartoon and comic section

Just noticed that when I attempt to click on the thundercatslair banner on all the pages for the comics and cartoon section that it doesnt redirect me to the main page. I dont know how this can be solved but it certainly is something that needs to be loooked into

Chris here…

This is something that either MannyF or Kyle needs to look into, as I haven’t worked on the “headers” for these pages at all - I’ve no idea why that would be happening…? :?

Take care…

Well, I noticed that when we relaunched, but didn’t know whether Kyle intended it to be like that or not which is why I didn’t say anything. The original design had the header linked to the main page so it was always that way.

Just going back to roles and our decision to have Manny work on the site level decisions etc.

I think that this is an example of a site level issue, as the header and the template format of the site is really his domain. I would guess that if the link no longer works on these headers, that it could be something unintentional that Kyle did. We should be consistent on how the header works for the whole site, and I see it as Manny F’s job to make sure that the banners are the same for the whole site.

That’s just the way I see it given what we agreed about the role, does anybody see it differently?

Chris here…

I don’t disagree with you necessarily, but it’s kind-of grey area - Kyle has basically been in charge of the HTML for those areas for a long time, a situation that evolved when MannyF was taking more of a “backseat” role on the site over the summer. In theory you should just have one person responsible for the HTML for the whole site, as this is the only surefire way to avoid anomolies of this kind, but this is a mammoth ask - at one point it looked as though the HTML for the entire site was going to be left up to Kyle, which would have been too big an undertaking for him, hence you have Neil, MannyC and myself all working on HTML under Kyle’s tutoring. Unfortunately given that MannyF puts these pages together using primarily Dreamweaver, and Kyle uses coding, it will occasionally throw up problems… :frowning:

Take care…

You are 100% correct Chris! If those pages worked on Dreamweaver I could easily batch all 100+ pages easily. If Kyle can’t make the change, then I’ll gladly do it, but this is all part of having different types of HTML styles.

I may get a bit of time over easter… but not much. Can’t promise anything too much at the moment. If it is considered urgent, I would have to ask if Manny could potentially help me out with that one. I realise I owe you a few favors at the minute my friend.. Hopefully over the Summer I can pay you back when I have some more time
