So the new toy-line’s figure of Mumm-Ra in his decayed form has been reviewed and it has been confirmed to include some interesting items. One item being a wicked looking Claw Shield and the other item being a dagger sized Sword of Omens look alike.
Could this possibly mean that Mumm-Ra possesses an Anti-Sword of Omens of some kind? Also why does this tech savvy Mumm-Ra even have a sword? And what is he doing with a Claw Shield?
I’d like it so see how Sword of omens would be in his possesion. As the stone in the sword is his (as he said in the first episode) it would made sense that the whole sword is his. Depening on who made the sword to begin with.
Ok, for the last time. That’s not the Sword of Omens. That’s the Sword of Plun-darr.

Ok but even the reviewer referred to it as the Sword of Omens and Claw Shield. So I figured he knew what he was talking about.
The swords must look alike in this series.

As I understand there’s no reference on the packaging as to what Mumm-Ra’s accessories actually are, so as I understand it Devall took it that what he was looking at was the Sword of Omens as it looks pretty identical to the “daggar” version of the Sword. However, Bandai’s website states that the sword is the Sword of Plun-Darr. 
Design-wise they both look as though they’re connected somehow - they both have the big red jewel in the centre. I’m pretty confident that the writers will create some sort of storytelling link between the two!

Remember the “Stones of Power” guys. The Eye of Thundera is said to possibly be one, why can’t the jewel thing on the hilt of the Sword of Plundarr? That’s how they could be connected.
If so, the Sword of Plundarr would still play a role similar to an Anti-Sword of Omens or Corrupted Sword of Omens.
Even though Devall assumed that the dagger that the decayed form Mumm-Ra toy has was the Sword of Omens, and has since been confirmed as the Sword of Plun-Darr…this thread is still interesting as we can still speculate about what the heck Mumm-Ra is doing with a Claw Shield! :eek:
Also, since the Sword of Plun-Darr never had a ‘stone’ in it, in the original series, what’s to say Mumm-Ra doesn’t eventually take the stone from the Sword of Omens and then place it into the Sword of Plun-Darr? Anyone think this might happen?
It’s possible I suppose. But I don’t like that idea simply because if the stone is the same you can’t really have both swords being used in the same fight. I like the thought better that it’s a different stone so you can see both Lion-O with the Sword of Omens and Mumm-Ra with the Sword of Plun-Darr go at it in an epic sword fight at season end. :evil:
I think the quest for the Stones of Power is so that Mumm-Ra can’t get one for the Sword of Plun-Darr. The ThunderCats will probably succeed a couple times, but Mumm-Ra will get his hands on another one and then we can have an epic Sword of Omens vs Sword of Plun-Darr fight. That would be a great season 1 finale episode.
