I would like to thank Cartoon Network storyboard artist Chris Copeland for this here design!! Brian Jones, manager; Action-Adventure at Cartoon Network, challenged Chris with this project and wanted to see Chris’s interpretation of Battlecat/Cringer from the He-man and the Masters of the Universe (MOTU). The picture above is Chris Copeland’s envisioning of the character. In my opinion, it turned out GREAT!!! I would love to see Battlecat in this Thundercats universe along side the Thundercats,Silverhawks and TigerSharks, Battlecat/ Cringer would be among old friends. Yes, there is red tape that needs to be worked around and agreements that need to come to terms in order for this cross-over/cameo to occur, but it has at least been looked into and we may just find out in the future that everything is in agreement and Battlecat/ Cringer will be on Thundercats. But to know if this will ever come to light everyone needs to continue supporting the show.

Very wierd, but at the same time pretty cool. I hope if it DOES happen, that there is a proper and full explanation of his role in the Thundercats universe and why exactly there is a cat with green fur, rather than simply being a cameo and an in joke to us fanboys (and girls of course).
Don’t feel bad. Took me a minute of looking at the picture to realize what I thought was He-Man with stripes and Battle Cat inspired armor was actually supposed to be Battle Cat turned into a ThunderCat. Kind of odd if you ask me. I’d rather a Battle Cat cameo be in the form of the Snow Meow, but that’s just me.
That is definately cool. I’d love to see his rendition of a more humanoid Panthor too!
As a happy or cautiously happy side note, Today I read through the ComicCon TV Guide edition, and as it was talking about the Thundercats Mad clip it said that Will Fridle “voices” Lion O, not voiced. Meaning to me that at the very least during the putting together of that issue, he was still employed by the show and so the series still does live.
On a kind of bad note, Toys R Us had Thundercat toys on discount. If I hadn’t boughten so many legos I would have perchased an item to keep interest up.
