"Playful" Thundercats thread

Here’s my play ful Lion-o, Mumm-ra and Jaga. These are all I have loose and a carded Mandrillo somewhere when I get round to photographing them. Mummra’s dagger is very poorly painted and feels different to the LJN counterpart.

Astral Moat Monster was made as well (completely forgot about him). He has painted fingernails and no markings that I’ve found

I never knew about him. Would love to see some pics of him if anyone has.

Very nice additions, “Thundercat01”.

I’ve always been very curious about the “Shuttle Guns”. How exactly do they work/fit on a figure? I have only seen them MOC, never loose. Do you put them on a figure like the Luna Lasher?

They are a hovercraft vehicle with side guns and handlebars to steer. There’s a back fin that turns from side to side with the handlebar movement. They are fairly flimsy and the figure stands up on it like a scooter holding the handle bars. Use google images for ‘thundercats shuttle gun’ and you will see them out of the packet, I don’t want to use other peoples photos without their permission.[SIZE=4][/SIZE]

Thanks for that info. I checked them out on Google Images. They do seem rather delicate.

I always wondered about the shuttleguns myself. Thanks for clearing that up. They never appeared in any of the cartoons or comics correct? We’re these just created by Playful to sell?

Playful didn’t make a Thunderclaw (Glasslite did however).

The shuttleguns were never in the cartoon and were exclusive creations by Playful. They are pretty cheap plastic and are essentially chariots and they are both the same for all extensive purposes

I have the moat monster if I have time to dig through my stored away collection I can get a pic but no idea when that could be

Can anyone confirm what a MOC PLayful Lion-O looked like? Did he have the same big card back as the LJN Lion-O or a smaller card back like Tygra, Panthro etc. I’m just curious because I have never seen pictures of a MOC Playful Lion-O or for that matter a MOC Playful Mumm-Ra.

I have the moc mumm-ra. They do exist (I should prob get around to posting pics of my collection sometime I just always forget).

Every moc Ive seen from Playful all have the same cards for standard figures However my thought is a bigger card might exist for Lion-o with Snarf. Even the Lion-o w Snarf Glasslite set is in a slightly bigger box. But then again I can see Playful making a bigger bubble and cramming it on the same card they used for everything except berserkers and shuttleguns w and without figures

Thanks a lot for the info Matt. Yes, please do post images of your MOC Mumm-Ra whenever you get time. Would LOVE to see that! I checked the 'Figure runs" thread but did not see the pic of your Playful Mumm-Ra MOC.

Do you own any Glasslite MOC or loose figures? Would love to see pics of those as well.

Updating the list with some additional info

Leono (Lion-O)

1. No light up eyes
2. Only the blade of the sword was painted silver not the eye and the hilt

Cheetara

1. Dark orange staff

Panthro

Tygro (Tygra)

1. Had a whip with black handle, white thread and golden balls.
2. Had black spots painted under the eyes.
3. Feet painted green.

PVC Snarf

1. Similar pose to the LJN PVC Snarf but a completely different sculpt (mold).

Jaga

1. Had black spots painted under the eyes.
2. Had a slightly different colored skin and cape
3. Only the blade of the sword was painted silver not the eye and the hilt

Bengali

1. Was made from a modified Tygra figure base
2. Had a silver metal hammer

Lynx-O

1. Was made from a modified Jaga figure base
2. Had a different shield which was completely silver

Mumm-ra

1. No light up eyes
2. Helmet is all red as opposed to the snakes being black

Chacalom (Jackalman)

1. Wrist and Shoulderpad are blue as opposed to black/yellow
2. Face and chest are painted cream colored
3. Club is darker colored

Mandrilo (Monkian)

Top Spinner

1. The purple color was slightly darker
2. The ball of his weapon was red
3. The handle of his weapon was yellow

Cruncher

1. No yellow markings on crotch.
2. No yellow on the top part of the helmet.
3. Slightly darker skin tone, especially in the face.

Hammerhand

1. Black tubes on the back/shoulder (instead of purple).
2. Both the horns on the helmet were yellow.
3. The right arm and left boot of the were completely black with no silver areas.

RamBam

1. Silver horns on the helmet (instead of purple).
2. The purple band on the helmet was much darker in color
3. Black shoulder pads (instead of purple).

I checked out all of your Thundercats review videos on Youtube and enjoyed them very much! The Bengali one was very informative and the Lion-O, Driller and Panthro ones were equally fun. Your Sean Connery impression in Jaga’s video really cracked me up!

I hope you will continue your reviews for the remaining figures/toys. Great job and thank you for sharing!

Lol thanks mate … I’m still very new to youtube and the whole idea of speaking on camera but hopefully with practice i"ll get good at it … I’m gonna do the thundertank next … Although its gonna be hard to beat Sean longs review on that one …
