Hey, I took some pics of my loose Stinger since they are few and far between with unbroken wings. I know there is a shimmering wing version on the sight beyond sight viewer, this is the clear wing version. I cant believe they made this for kids to play with. The wings probably lasted about 10 minutes. Just thought I would share with those who would like to see it.

I am curious as to which card your Stinger is from, American or Foreign? It is believed that the clear wings version is a UK release, while the shimmering wings version is American.
Its just funny that the majority of collectors here in the US have the clear wings version when supposedly it was only released in the UK. Go figure…:roll:
yep that’s an excellent example of a Stinger. I can’t exactly remember but I think i got mine about 4 years ago from someone in the UK or overseas at least, I’m not exact sure on the two variations because I havent paid that much attention to them since, obviously, loose complete is next to impossible to find anyways. here’s a pic of mine, I dont know why 2 got discolored with a brownish tint and the other 4 didn’t but anyways, i can’t complain, i actually own one. pic looks like maybe more than one i discolred but it’s only 1 on each side.

It’s funny about the discoloration on these figures. Take the Luna Lasher Mummra for example. You almost always see that the chest as yellowed, while the rest of the body has not. Why would that happen assuming the entire figure is constructed of the same material/paint?

Very nice loose Stingers guys! Yep mine was/is on a non U.S. card. After I took the pics I put him back in the bubble and taped it to the card so the wings will remain attached. The way the plastics react on these figures is pretty crazy. I have my Bengali that I have had since childhood and he is in excellent shape except for some of those ugly age spots that plague the third series of figures. I have thought about replacing him with another but as yall know he is a pretty expensive figure. (to me anyway)
Yeah I know what you mean about those “age spots”. There is a name for them, but I can’t think of it.
My Pumyra has quite a few of them. I used to think that is how she came being that she is a “Puma” and all, but then I realized that was not the case.
Still, imho, the series 3 figures had some of the best paint jobs. Safari Joe and Capt Cracker for example were very well done.

Yeah, I had to let him go unfortunatly. Trying to get some money together. It went for less than I hoped. Our good buddy Dancot won it under one of his many names (wildcard8080) I did not realize it until I seen his payment info. So be on the look out for a Stinger MOC unopened, which is what I am sure he will list it as.
