Sorry guys for my post in the marketplace forum, but I just had to say what I thought. I’ll likely put a few noses out of joint with my comments.
But to be honest this isn’t the first time I’ve heard people talk about Pete and the way he acts when trading. The general opinion I’ve formed about him from what folks have told me is once he has your money, you will get your item when he can be arsed. His communication skills have a lot to be desired for as well.
and to come on here and have the cheek to make out how small of an issue it is, because it was only $14 is so amazingly rude. I feel he dug his own grave with that reply in public view!
He wouldn’t dare mess you about Manny, because he knows how popular you are in the Thundercats Toys community and how your opinion of traders is valued.
I know Andrew is a good guy, but sometimes you have to put friendships aside and be honest. I don’t think I was out of line, but I know Andrew will probably get pissed off at me
Regardless of what comes of this thread, I just noticed that we’re definitely seen as the pre-eminent ThunderCats board for toys. That Andrew and Pete would check our board and respond so quickly and (in the case of Andrew) so thoroughly… just tells me that we’ve created a great place for people to come and talk about their collecting hobby.
I hope this blows over quickly and Neil you’re well within your rights to share your opinion. I would have preferred if you’d shared an opinion based on a personal experience with Pete because it’s not always fair to say that you’ve “heard this from other people” because Pete can’t really respond to something like that.
btw. is the Andrew who runs toysandtoons Andrew McCabe?
Its Andrew for sure. I think this has been blown out of proportions and think that the thread should be locked, I wont do that because thats what we have mods for but I think now that both sides have placed their stories on the table, its time to move on before this gets out of hand. My 2 cents of course.
Ive had one transaction with Pete thru toysandtoons and it went just fine. I must agree that we cant go by what other people tell us or by hearsay. Being called a liar in a forum without attempting to work things out is absurd so I can understand Pete’s frustration and anger at this point. Its his reputation, something that people value more than business
I have been in contact with Pete I think. I think I once asked for a shipping quote on one of his auctions or asked if he’d ship to the UK. His response as far as I can remember was a bit rude.
Your right about what others say Mark, but I’m hearing the exact same kinda stories over and over from different people. But I just said what was on my mind and I feel what I said was valid. Hopefully they will learn from this and not come across similar hassles again.
Sorry for the back to back post. I just read Pete’s reply and now see what I said was spot on. I’d never personally deal with anyone who has that attitude (whether the buyer was at fault for not providing full details with payment or not)
I think all folks need to do his read his responses to see his general attitude to customer service
I’d leave the thread open until either the original poster or Pete/Andrew confirm the issue has been sorted. After that might as well lock it.
ive never had a problem with pete great stuff great shipping and packing. i’ll lock the thread in a day or so hopefully both parties are squared away by then
i closed it then deleted it (i thought it should be deleted after the fact as it serves no purpose). if anyone feels the need to undelete it and just leave it closed feel free. original said it was closed and he jumped the gun
