I’ve been thinking that maybe Cheetara and Tygra have somehow exchanged personalities from the OS to the NS.
In the OS, Tygra was the calm one, who always found a jsutification and a reason to Lion-o’s actions and behavours, while Cheetara was the most defying and scolding one (like she did in “Shifter” for example).
Now, after watching “The Drifter and the Duellist”, Tygra scolded Lion-o for being away while they did the hard work… something that sounded more like the OS Cheetara would have done.
On the other hand, in “Journey to the Tower of Omens”, Cheetara told Panthro and Tygra to be patient and have faith in Lion-o, something I would have expected from Tygra to do in the OS (like in “Exodus”).
What do you think? Do you think producers thought OS Cheetara’s personality was more “masculine” than Tygra’s, and they decided to swap them?
in the orignal series i think that they were all protective of liono but the ones who early on had the most calming maternal instincts were cheetarah and also panthro
I’m not sure about that. Although Cheetara was maternal and protective towards Lion-o (like all of the TCs), she was the one who scolded him tha most, being critical about his pride, impulsivity, or the fact that he tensed to doa lot of stuff by himself instead of team work. She not obnly did that in “The Shifter”, but also in “Excalibur” for example. She used to call his attention and get frustrated about that aspect of him.
thats why i SAID what i said to me she was the most protective maternal and at times trying to show what liono was doing was foolish or not, especially in the begining of the series, its to me which helped him grow into a great leader from an impetous cub
In Exodus, don’t forget Tygra was the one to suggest Lion-O watch the planet explode, but Cheetara didn’t agree with it.
But I think there were times where everyone except Kit and Kat scolded Lion-O. Panthro after Lion-O takes it for a joy ride, Cheetara when he refuses to run from the Brute Men, I’m drawing a blank on Tygra scolding, but I think it happened.
True, but why ask the question in that way if you do not agree with doing it? Tygra was volunteering to wake him up for that specific reason. He wasn’t asking if they, as a group, should wake him up.
I think Tygra was the most considerate and patient towards Lion-O.
In “Unholy Alliance”, when Lion-O said he was going to explore and Panthro and cheetara compaliend, Tygra was the one to let him do it, explaining the others that Lion-O has still to grow mentally. Also, in “Thundercats Ho!”, while Panthro regretted leaving Lion-O alone, Tygra was the one who said he has grown and learned a lot, and has learned team work and all that. It was Tygra the one who encouraged him during the trials, adn let the others know if Lion-O failed, they failed.
The closest Tygra was to scolding Lion-O was in “Return to Thundera”, when they thought he had abandoned his guard and Tygra said ghe couldn’t believe Lion-o would do such thing… but Lion-O wasn’t even there lol.
That’s why I think there has been a personality swap between Cheetara and Tygra; she being the patient, comprehensive one and Tygra the intolerant one in the NS.
Nothing about the new Tygra’s personality reminds me of any of the ThunderCats in the OS. He’s moody and irritable and sulky, none of the OS cats were like that except for Lion-O and the kittens on occassion and then not to this extreme. Cheetara was always very level-headed and a voice of reason. I would liken the new Tygra’s personality more to one of the mutants in the OS.
