I am not sure how the business side of things works, but Leonard seems to believe he got a raw deal from Jules. I also found it interesting that the animators overseas requested that they no longer wrote about the “hordes” in their scripts as it was overwhelming to draw. Maybe that is why after the first handful of episodes we rarely saw the generic mutants?
This was a really interesting interview. I guess it explains why Thundercats was so successful unlike their other attempts (Silverhawks and Tigersharks).
Unquestionably, all of the most important episodes in the series were written by him (until he left, and then Peter Lawrence stepped up to the plate, and while he’s a good writer, he’s not so great on the broader strokes of the series).
