Perhaps Grune and Mumm-ra contacted Slithe. They were only 2. They needed an army, so they contacted the lizards, led by Slithe.
He probably will be, I mean all that was cut off was the tip of his drill. I’m sure they’ll dig him up and he’ll be back. Most likely.
Yeah, was freaking hilarious along with the samoflange line too.
And I think Lion-O would listen to Panthro more now that Panthro respects him and knows he doesn’t have to babysit him and will listen to Lion-O now as well.
It appears that Grune and Panthro were away from Thundera at least 7 years ( a guess) i guess that partly explains how he learned technology, he had enough time to learn it with somebody’s help.
I wonder why he didn’t come home to tell about Grune’s betrayal!
I loved everything about this episode from start to finish! The samoflange joke was very well placed and the perfect nod to the OS for Adult fans (that one will go right over the heads of kids! lol)
I loved how they utilised The Driller in the plot of this episode, as the character fit so perfectly to the Thundrillium mine plot! 
We also got to see the main characters all use there familiar strengths. I was just waiting for Cheetara to save the day grabbing the Thundrillium and then zooming out with the advantage of her super speed.
The back story of how Mumm-Ra was freed is great and I’m so glad we’ve finally got that covered! I’m not too keen on the new design of the casket and hope he still has to replenish his powers inside it…
Panthro was absolutely kick ass! He is my favourite character in this new take. The voice actor was also perfect voicing Panthro! I cannot wait to get the figures of him! (though the 6" one might loan the LJN nunchucks ) I just hope we get Grune in 6" too!
Yep this one rates just as high (if not higher) than the pilot episode!
Aghhh! Forgot to comment on this! I have to say I love the new design of The Driller and yep an action figure of him would kick ass! Hopefully he will be considered as a 6" Deluxe figure or maybe even vehicle sized?
Am I the only one who wants a Driller figure now?

Am I the only one that catches the VERY strong parallels they’re drawing between Tygra and Grune?
I think best delievered lines of the night were:

Probably was being hunted by Grune and Mumm-Ra and they were watching the way back to Thundera. He was also probably looking for the book still as well.
I noticed the parallels, but I’m really hoping they’ll use Grune as the example of someone in that position who went for the power and turned bad, and Tygra as someone with those qualities who stays good and loyal despite temptation.
Sad that didnt get to see them duel it out but still an epic Ep.!! 11/10
So only lions can be kings and if Cladius hadnt sent them to look for the book, Thundera would not have fallen since it was Grune who release Mumm-ra. I wonder who sealed him there.
The scene where Panthro falls resembles a lot when Luke is fighting Vader and finds out the truth and falls down to the emptyness
Another strong episode this week. Loved it!

The flashback scenes between Pantrho & Grune were great and did a lot to answer some of the questions we’ve had since the premier episode. It was cool to see Grune’s motivations for doing what he did, Mumm-Ra escaping his imprisonment, & the formation of the partnership between Grune & Mumm-Ra. There is still more to answer (where was Panthro & why didn’t he warn Thundera? Where did Mumm-Ra get the technology, etc) but its nice to see them giving us something to work with.

I liked the rift between Panthro & Lion-O and I was even happier that it got a resolution at the end. However, I do think it was foolish of Lion-O NOT to trust Panthro’s judgment since he has a wealth of experience, but he’s still learning I guess.

The Driller was awesome. Its funny though but he probably looks more like a Cybertronian now than he did back in the original show.

Fun action here as well and we have Grune Vs. Panthro to look forward too. It was nice to see Cheetara & Tygra use their super speed & invisibility as they haven’t since the premier I think.

It’s interesting that they made Grune susceptible to the same mind tricks that Tygra was in the OS. I wonder if they are planning on setting up a garden of delights like episode or possible a Tygra version of the Telepathy Beam.
Okay… Yes, I’m evil. I just want to see Tygra let loose. I wanted to see that since the OS. 
Yeah there are some, I don’t know maybe it’s because Grune sees that Tygra is in a similar situation as his, I mean Tygra has everything to become king, he is better than Lion-o in almost everything and the people would prefer him as king, but because he is not a Lion he can’t be king.
The phrase “If there is something you don’t have you can take it” (or something like that) tell us a lot of how Grune thinks.
It would be interesting if at some point Grune tries to convince Tygra to betray Lion-o and the others, and it would be awesome if Tygra accepts.
Just to turn out in the end that everything was planned between Tygra and Lion-o to fool Grune and Mumm-ra and get information from them
That’s true, thanks for sharing! Grune seems to be a fallen hero, motivated by power, like Anakin.
The scene where Grune opens the path into the pyramid with Panthro not far behind reminds me of a scene in the Star Wars game Knights of the Old Republic. An evil mind opening old, forbidden ruins leading to great power. 
It does make you wonder if that’s setting us to meet some of the more unpleasant and/or rebellious Thunderian noblity down the road. I mean not all the noblity could have been in the city at the time it was destroyed. To feed a city of that population your talking about huge amounts of farm land to support it.

I think I may have found this episode to be boring. When I watched it a second time through, my attention waned.
Loved the action scene at the end though! 
I especially loved seeing Tygra and Cheetara in their elements, Tygra using his invisibility and Cheetara using her speed. And I loved the Driller! Interesting to essentially make him a robot. In the OS, I had the impression that he was more a living being made of metal.
Was Thundrillium pink in the OS?

I liked Panthro standing up to Lion-O in the series but I hated the fact that the only thing that made him decide to offer his undying loyalty to Lion-O was his impressive ability with the sword. I don’t know, it made Panthro seem shallow to me and I didn’t like that. I want Panthro to be full of wisdom who values more than just physical strength.
Nice to know the history even though I felt it drug on for a little too long, and I was disappointed that they didn’t explain how Panthro lost his tail or blinded his right eye or how Grune lost his tooth. The most interesting thing I found in the history lesson is that Mumm-Ra had actually been imprisoned until Grune let him out.
Whoever made the theory thinking that Mumm-Ra was the cause of the ThunderCats to ban all technology - I’m starting to believe this is possible.
Considering how much Tygra looked up to Grune, I would have liked to have seen more of a response from him when they all met up with Grune near the end. This cartoon is feeling way too one dimensional, as if they can only deal with one character at a time. It feels weak. I don’t want this show to feel like Lion-O leading the way and the rest just blindly following him and providing more of a back drop than any real interactive characters. 
This episode had a ‘setting up’ feel.
I’m not worried about Tygra reactions. They’re coming. They’re drawing too strong of parallels between Tygra and Grune for them not to be planning something for it.
Ya but Grune had power lust from the very beginning. I don’t get that feeling from Tygra. I mean just in those flash backs their were so many red flags. I am surprised they did not suspect Grune Earlier of being a threat.
