Can this be right?> Was price shopping today for Tuesday.. Look at the Canadian Price at Walmart for S2V2!!
Woah, that price is too nice. Gotta be a catch somewhere.. or maybe a retailer finally clued in that lower prices might entice more buyers.

Yeah, you guys are right in that the Thundercats are in the bestsellers section of BestBuy and I cannot even find copies of the previous DVD sets of the Thundercats anywhere in the store.
Well, I got my copy of the FINAL DVD set. It feels kind of weird to own the whole series forever and not having to depend on television for reruns (with commericals).
The DVD case art still bites. It is so generic and I hate how Lion-o’s claw shield has ripples near where the diamonds or those circular emblems are. It is so inaccurate. Lol..
Again, no bonuses from Warner Video, to those that spent money buying theses sets. A would have been happy with a poster of every single character (like a group shot) in the series. Good guys on one side, bad guys on the other side.
Manny, I’m, not sure what you mean when you say that Warner did a good job. I hardly think this is the best they could have done. It seems like they went with the bare minimum and thats about it.
The release could not have come at a better time. Unfortunately, I have to be at work followed by class tonight and I will not be able to watch it till after 10pm. I only got it now to, get it out of the way because I won’t be able to once I arrive at work and because this particular store only had seven on the shelf. I’m not sure if there were more in the backroom, but if there were, why didn’t they put it all out. Who knows.
Hopefully, watching these episodes, all of the title cards are there and hopefully, all of the sound is there.

s2v2 in all it’s glory for 36.84 Canadian!! WooHoo!!! and of course, when I went in this morning to get it at Walmart, their price tag on it was 54.83 so I showed them their own flyer that I got that picture from and said “Do you match your own flyer price?” LOL sure enough when they rang it through the til it came up as 36.84, so I’m sure they’ll either adjust the price tags or have happy customers when it comes up cheaper at the til.
Well, so far it seems like the quality is very good, small complaint in the return of the thundercubs, certain scenes, lion’s hair seems over saturated almost glowing neon red and in the one scene when he’s calling Thundercats Ho his whole body is very neon-ish… is this normal?

This is the time that ThunderCats fans have been waiting well over a year for - the time when Warner Brothers release their final ThunderCats DVD boxed set, meaning that for the first time ever, all 130 episodes are available in English on official DVD!
If anybody has any comments, criticisms, praise or information to share about this DVD set, please post them in here! This can be anything from comments on the quality of the episodes to info about the special feature(s), to screenshots of the menus and pictures of the individual DVDs’ covers, to comments on the episodes themselves and which you think are the best and worst! We would love to hear from you!
On a personal note - as a UK ThunderCats fan this is an exciting release for me, as all we ever saw of TCats’ season 2 in the UK was a home video release of “ThunderCats Ho! The Movie”. All of my TCats season 2 episodes I acquired about 6 years ago, VHS recordings converted from NTSC to PAL and having been through multiple copies. It will be amazing to see these episodes in broadcast quality for the first time! Sadly at the moment with Christmas coming up I don’t have the spare funds to buy this set, but it is the #1 item on my Christmas list so hopefully in a few weeks Santa will help me out!

Hi, Does anyone have the codes to the “ultimate thundercats game”? thanks!
I brought it and view many of the shows. Cool. As far as the extras. I did not view them just yet. I was confused though, because the text on the screen said for me to pop in the 6th disk. Does that mean the 6th disk in the other volumes? This volume starts at 7, so I don’t know what they are talking about.
I also read form your other member, through her link, that their are hidden interviews after completing the game. That was a pleasant surprise to read. Maybe Warner Video had that planned all along, right.
He-Fan - I’m working on getting screen caps of the special feature up, hopefully today. But my computer is spazzing out on me, so a lot will depend on if this thing keeps running or goes kaput :yikes: Edit: I’ve got some caps up now in my site’s gallery. They are in an album that’s member’s-only, but it’s not too bothersome to register! Have fun.
T-Cat - I did save all the codes and wrote them down, but what fun is that? Part of the fun is getting there and discovering for yourself
Thunderhood - Yes, the game itself is on the last disc in the S2V2 set. However, you will have to, at certain points in the game, also pop in other discs in the set to get more codes. Don’t forget to also turn the subtitles on when you do, or you won’t be able to see the codes when they pop up…if you’ve indeed found the right scene It’s a challenging game!

I don’t know, it’s not as good over all as some other toon releases, but then…this is Thundercats, not Citizen Kane :yawn:
I do agree that a remastering wouldn’t have killed them and they could have included better extras, but then, I never paid anywhere near the SRP so…it evened out imho.
And I’ll stand by that I quite enjoyed this set’s special features. To each their own 8)

Thanks Purr for answering my question. I have yet to bother checking out the extra, but it seems like a pain (a minor one though) where you have to constantly insert the disks into the DVD drive. Also, it says on disk 12 that I should insert disk six, but isn’t there two disk six.
I guess Warner Bros assumed that EVERYONE would purchase the entire show. Believe it or not, I know at least two people who only wanted the second season, as they thought it was better, therefore they will miss out on this extra, as you need the entire collection, I assume.
As far as the ign.com review. I have to STRONGLY agree. This is what I have been saying ever since the first release. No phamplets, no storyboard samples, no art, no bios, no preliminary character designs, no commentary from the majority of the cast and artists, basically, the extras in total were worthless and boring with the exception of Larry and those two other voice over actors.
I guess some people here could care less about the extras, but you guys are total fans of the show and the excitement of having the series in the palm of your hands, I guess was good enough, whereas the extras was little bothersome to you. I can understand that, BUT there are those who like the Thundercats and or those who simply remember it in their days and did not purchase the sets because of minimium effort giving not only to the extras, but to the show itself.
The quality, especially in this day in age is, well, horrible. I say horrible because it could have and should have been much better. Not only picture quality, but the audio being mono was a head scratcher. Why? I have to turn my television set extra high to really hear the show. I don’t get it. The technology is definitely there and Warner Bros. definitely has the money to do it. Why they didn’t, I can only assume that they figured that WE would purchase the Thundercats series regardless, so why put extra effort into it. Again, I assume that that was what they were thinking. I could be wrong though.
I absolutely love the Thundercats, but I am not blind to the point where I can’t see that we have been shafted. Lol… It’s basically a missed opportunity. When I first heard the series was coming to DVD, I instantly, before I knew anything about the He-Man/She-Ra extras, figured that they would include bios, whether in print or via DVD, the history of video, audio sample bits of the shows background music (the music in this show is HOT), a synopsis of each show including original air date, writer info, and a summary (like He-Man), and an in-depth look at the series including how it started, why it ended, especially when it was so popular, why did Leonard Starr quit as headwriter, who’s decision was it to end the show the way it did, etc, etc.
These things are important, especially for one of the first cartoons and one of the only cartoons to ever air five days a week most of the year. To treat it the way Warner Video has is disrespect to the show, the creators , and the fans of the series. I was pssted off, after the first DVD set, but continued to buy it, at the cheapest price I could possibly find, because it is the only official way I could get the show on DVD that is pretty much clear.
I’m sorry for rambling. Lol… I know some people are exicited about this new Thundercats cartoon, but I’ll do a wait and see. I don’t trust that Warner Bros. can revive the Thundercats properly. I hope they can, but with the handling of the DVDs and the less-than-average reviews upon each release, they have left a mildly bitter taste in many people’s mouth, including mine.

Given the remastering technology available today, the series was given a somewhat shoddy, rush job.
This isn’t to say that it has to be in HD 1080 with 7.1 DTS surround (Not that I’d complain), but at least make it a clean 2.1 stereo with a level of video restoration that really complements just how rich the animation really was.
No matter, I still plan on getting the entire series… just sort of puts a bit of a damper on wanting to rush right out this moment to buy it.
Thunderhood, you misunderstand. The only discs you need for the feature are the ones included in the S2V2 set. There will be some general trivia concerning earlier eps, but inserting those discs aren’t required. And I think you only have to do it 3 or 4 times in all.
btw, anyone else notice that WB liked to advertise stereo sound in their little press releases they’d send to the sites? :duh: That always amused me for some reason, but I digress.
well got my dvd set today and i was a bit annoyed at how in two of the cases, there was a dvd floating around inside. and of course they had some minor scratches on them. i checked to see if they wroked properly and it looks ok, but then again to really be sure id have to go thru every single minute and second of the dvd, so who knows. in anycase, glad to have one of my childhood classics in a complete collection. ill ve sure to save these for my own kids someday

I think WB could HAVE done better in improving the episodes’ picture and sound quality myself.
Still, it’s better than those VCR tapes I recorded…20 years ago…on EP speed! I’m happy to have a decent copy of Helpless Laughter. It’s one of my all-time favorites AND just a bizarre episode to me…period.
Yeah, it was nice ditching those last two bootleg tapes I recorded off the tube way back when.
In fact, I’ve been on vacation this week. So picking up Thundercats S2V2 AND Superman: The Ultimate Collectors’ Edition was suh-weet!
could we maybe do a spolier thread and have the jump codes etc in there? the game is a good idea but It’s getting frustrating now!
