The MUTANTS form an unholy alliance with MUMM-RA and set forth to destroy the THUNDERCATS. LION-0 uses his mighty Sword of Omens for the first time as he lets loose with his thrilling call: “THUNDER-THUNDER-THUNDER THUNDERCATS … HO!” A beam of light streaks from the hilt of the sword and projects the image of the roaring cat in the sky for the others to see. The sword grows in length and strength as LION-0 wins in his first encounter with MUMM-RA who has transformed himself into a fearsome warrior from another age. “Where evil exists, MUMM-RA lives”.
I liked it. For me this episode really set up the storyline of the show. If you were to only watch one episode and you watched this one you would be able to know what was going on in the rest of them. I know this is short and sounds kind of lame but I’m tired
i will say i liked this ep alot more then the first one cause its the first appearence of mummra hes what the show needed and thankfully we see alot of him
anyway its got good action pretty good storyline and defenitly the best of mummra
I think the Unholy Alliance is a very good episode. It shows us how the Mutants were defiant against Mummra and in a sense were forced to give in. One would think that the mutants formed an alliance with Mummra to destroy the Thundercats and ultimately get the Sword of Omens but i think the mutants were just to worried what Mummras powers could do against them. If they had gone alone they wouldve had to fight 2 fronts;one with Mummra and one with the Thundercats so it wasnt to their advantage to go at it alone. This episode also shows for the first time what i consider Mummra’s main weakness and that is his own reflection. Overall a good episode with a bit of Mummra’s history for the rest of the episodes to follow.
Grade 7/10- Dint think there was too much action IMO
This episode places emphasis of the introduction of Mumm-Ra, and the newly formed alliance formed between him and the mutants. It establishes the kind of relationship that the two have throughout the series. They work together, but are ultimately against each other in the fight for the Sword of Omens. Lion-O learns that the sword of omens can only be used to fight evil and learns of Mumm-Ra’s existance.
I would say that this episode is just as good as the first. The writers have begun to filter the moral values into the show and the code of Thundera is further developed. Another great episode that started everything off..probably just has the edge on the Exodus… 4*
Very good episode this and the introduction to Mumm-Ra who at last we could feel was to be a real threat to the Thundercats. From this point onwards the show really kicked of.
