The MUTANTS are using them to build the evil Castle Plun-Darr S-S-SLITHE uses “Warp Gas” to turn the otherwise meek BRUTEMEN into raving monsters. Using the Sword of Omens, LION-0 sees PANTHRO in trouble. The sword forms an energy field which pushes the Warp Gas back at the MUTANTS, who themselves become meek. Howdy
This was kind of a YAWN fest really. Nothing special in the story, pretty rudimentary stuff.
4/10

I actually really like this episode. It shows the Mutants as a formiddable power, gets some good character development in, and finishes off the ‘Beginning’ Arc started in the first episode.
Its a shame that shortly after this the Mutants became a bunch of bumbling idiots.
The Slaves of Castle Plundarr
I liked the Episode but felt it wasn’t as strog as the other 3 introduction episodes (from Exodus the Movie)
I liked the concept of the Warp gas.. switching the character of the Brute Men from gentle to aggressive and Lion-O from Brave to Scared…
I also liked the contrast between how the Thundercats built their base and how the Mutants build theirs.. The Thundercats make friends who are willing to help, whereas the Mutants enslave a weaker race than themselves to do the work for them.
Also as Martin states, this is probably the beginning of the end of the Mutants as respectable oponents.. although they’ve always been pretty rubbish.
Compared to many of the amazing Episodes which followed this one, I have to give it a 2* but that is not to say it is bad… its just a tribute to how good many of the other episodes are!
