Reading this post I’ve thought of something, maybe you have already, but here it is: Since there are so many episodes to have a description in the cartoon guide, what if every week in this section there where 2, 3 episodes and members of the site could talk about the episode, maybe watching them again and then, contributing to create a summary that would go straight to the cartoon section.
In this way that section would slowly becoming complete and I believe that everybody would be glad to contribute to it!
About the episode, I liked it because I always enjoyed episodes that talked about Thundera or some of it’s inhabitants (even if they’re fake as this Pumm-Ra), like those guards on that episode where Lion-O travels back to Thundera or Grune, etc.
It was also very funny to see the mutants riding the Thundertank!
Hey Vintage, this is a great idea, and something that we could think about for sure! I would say that in terms of actual summaries of episodes, we do already have the official Rankin-Bass synopsies for episodes 1 - 65, and are in the process of preparing more. The biggest area that slows the Episode Guide down is actually preparing all the images (i.e., doing all the screengrabs), and then building the pages themselves!
However, my aim is to get the Episode Guide put together as quickly as possible, and with as many fan reviews as we can get! It’s not going to be completed overnight, but, now that the Original Comic Art Gallery is up, the Episode Guide is my #1 priority!

About the screen caps, I can help out if you want, I don’t know how many images of each episode, but I think that from time to time take 5 images of each episode wouldn’t be a problem. The only problem I can imagine is that I don’t have the original DVD’s I have all episodes in DivX, recorded from Cartoon Network.
But since the images I saw on Manny’s post about the episode Pumm-Ra are small, maybe they will look fine if they’re in that size… or maybe not!
I thought Pumm-Ra’s execution was well done. As someone who’s watched cartoons since Saturday morning line ups in 1976, Thundercats’ animation was far superior. This episode had two memorable moments for me.
The first was a close up of Cheetara’s face while she and Pumm-Ra were sitting by the fire. The way the light flickered around her facial features was terrific. It was reminiscent, to me, of a Disney theatrical feature.
The other moment was when Cheetara was laying on that table in front of Mumm-Ra, and an upwards shot showed just how well-endowed Cheetara was! Hey, I was 12 at the time:evil: !
There’s no deep reasons as to why I like this episode. Back when Thundercats was on the air, and I was videotaping it, I definitely recorded, and kept, Pumm-Ra.
I liked the Pumm-ra character. I think he was huge, and reminded me a little of Grune (dont ask me how). The overall story line was an interesting one. It would be one of many times that Mumm-ra actually got inside Cats’s lair. As Optimusprime said this is really the first time that the rest of the Thundercats meet Mumm-ra, and realize that he is a formidable enemy rather than just some babbling nonsense by Lion-o.
LOL, I may well take you up on that - in an ideal world I’d like to host the official Rankin-Bass synopsies for all episodes (which are the synopsies you’ll read on all the episode guide pages re-done so far), but some are not so easy to track down…
I absolutely hate writing synopsies of any kind, the ones I do are always too long, LOL! So, in the future I may yet take you up on that offer, although will obviously have to see how it goes - I’ll certainly remember your kindness in offering, my friend!

…you’ll see the screengrabs at the bottom. If you click on one, it should (unless I’ve made a complete mess of the coding, LOL!) take you to a page showing a larger version of that image, which is why they need to be of a certain quality.

“Pumm-Ra” has long been a favourite episode of mine, for my money it has very few (if any) weaknesses - as much as I love the second season of ThunderCats, these early episodes for me are just pure gold!
