Not a Fan

What are some things that you are not a fan of? It can be just about anything.

Some things that I am Not a Fan of…

  1. Shaky camera movements in movies.
  2. People who do not pull into the inside lane on the highway to let you get on when there’s no one preventing them from moving over and they’re not needing to get off at the next exit.
  3. Rude service in either a store or restraunt.
  4. My kitten thinking a fresh litter box gives him liberty to go nuts and kick litter everywhere. :stuck_out_tongue:
  5. Disney channel animation.
  6. Horror films.
  7. High gas prices.
  8. Hollywood making several productions on the same subject instead of showing more originality.
  9. Politicians.

There are a lot of things I am not a fan of…

  1. When I buy a pizza and the cheese is burnt! Not golden brown in tiny spots, no, the whole freaking thing is dark brown!

  2. Speaking of food…when I get french fries at either Burger King or McDonalds and they are cold! They are too cheap to throw them out and make new ones so I get stuck with fries under the heat lamp that have been sitting there for nearly an hour. Deep fried foods loose heat quickly and heat lamps will not keep food temps at 135 for more than 15 minutes (I’m a hospitality major in college and I worked as a cook in many restaurants…I know my stuff  ) This is why I purposely go to fast food places during busy times…so the stuff is fresh!

  3. When my cat sneaks out of the house and as a matter of fact, I think she just snuck out of my window…thank heavens I got her spayed.

  4. When the classroom suck-up in my class kisses the professor’s rear-end and suggests that we “work through the three hour long class with no 10 minute break so we can get through the lesson earlier” So many times I wanted to b!tch-slap her, especially last week!

  5. When I am trying to eat my dinner and either my children or my husband want something. I can’t remember the last time I ate dinner that was actually hot. It’s usually warm, but not hot. I’m a mom and it’s my job so I don’t complain.

  6. When I get stuck behind an elderly person on a road where there is no passing and they are going 25-30 MPH in a 45-55 MPH zone. So many times I’m thought about passing and thought “there’s no cop around, I won’t get caught” but I chicken out…

  7. This co-insides with #6…when the elderly person approaches a passing zone and purposely speeds up so you don’t pass them and then slows down in the no passing zone area…makes me scream obscenities in my car.

  8. This also co-insides #6 and #7…when I am running late for class or any kind of appointment.

  9. Being in the 10 items or less lane and some a$$hole comes up with a full grocery cart full of food. What’s also bad is when a cashier turns her or his light off and some inconsiderate ba$tard goes in their line anyway with a cart load of items even after they said “I’m closed”

  10. Speaking of “I’m closed” When I was a cook, I hate it…and I repeat I HATE IT WHEN SOME JERK COMES INTO A RESTAURANT FIVE MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING! Yes, we will punish you and you will not know it. We will purposely use the ends, scraps, cold, etc food to make your order. You will be lucky if we don’t tamper with it by “accidentally dropping some ingredients on the floor” I’ve seen it, and it’s not pretty. Don’t anger those that handle your food!

It is obvious: I am not fan of the new and “improved” Thundercats.

MGP

Well, this looks like a fun thread! Okay, I’ll try to stay away from anything too controversial and try to keep things generally safe.

  1. The Twilight series

  2. The Westboro Baptist Church

  3. Ignorance and stupidity

  4. Country and Rap music

  5. Will Ferrell

  6. Most reality T.V. (i.e. American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Jersey Shore, etc.)

  7. Military-themed, multiplayer FPS games (Call of Duty, Modern Warfare)

  8. Organized religion

  9. Fox News

  10. Nerd or Geek entitlement

I am not a fan of…

[ol]
[li]Panthro thinking that losing his original arms is worth it (that’s a bit controversial, isn’t it?)[/li][li]Lack of life[/li][li]Some arguments[/li][li]Finding out how Panthro smells like :D[/li][/ol]
Reading others’ responses is very interesting, and that’s an understatement.

I hear ya on that. Panthro losing his arms is what finally turned me off, I haven’t seen any of the episodes since the season 1 (if you call that a season) finale.

Not a Fan continued…

  1. MSNBC

Let’s see here; I’m no fan of.

Having to clean up litter tracked into my bed.

People who call and don’t say anything.

Co-workers who don’t show up and make things harder for everyone.

Having a film snap while I’m watching a movie in the middle of a great scene.

Waiting for the bus on a cold wet day.

Things I’m not a fan of:

  1. Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Not only in fanfic, but in RPs (there is nothing more excruciating in an RP than having to deal with one of these characters) and bad ones in canon. (Aside from famous examples like Wesley Crusher, for a prime canon example, I’m looking at you, Voltron Force cadets.)

  2. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I’ve never watched this and I never will. Bleh.

  3. Shipping wars in fandoms.

  4. Twilight. Admittedly, I have not read the books, but the only way I could get through the first movie was the Rifftrax version. I do not get the appeal of this series at all.

  5. Phineas and Ferb. Another show half of my Tumblr and DA friends list seems to adore. I don’t get the appeal. Especially of shipping the platypus with the professor dude.

  6. Most video games. I just can’t get into playing video games for the most part, especially on a console. The only exception seems to be Sims 3 on my PC. That I can play for hours on end.

Couple other ones to add…

  1. The New Boy Bands (Justin Beiber, One Direction)

  2. Death Metal- I just can’t get behind this subgenre. This must be what my parents think regular Heavy Metal sounds like. It really is just noise. No musicianship. Not even good singing. It’s all just fast double bass drums in 4/4 time signature, with the singer just doing that hoarse growling; what some call “Cookie Monster vocals.” Metal may be loud and dissonant, but that doesn’t necessarily exclude it from having traditional musical practices apply to it. Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Brian May, Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani, Adrian Smith & Dave Murray, Steve Vai, Michael Schenker, Glen Tipton & K.K. Downing, and Yngwie Malmsteen could all be considered virtuosos with what they have done with the electric guitar. And Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson, King Diamond, Tim “Ripper” Owens and Freddie Mercury can hold their own with some of the most classically trained Opera singers in my opinion. It helps give Metal that bigger than life, epic quality that I love about it. Death Metal by contrast is just noise.

Damn, I’m getting old!:frowning:

OMG! Justine Beiber, I hate him! How the hell did I forget to mention that annoying little son of a b!tch? He’s more feminine than me and I’m a woman LOL

I can’t stand rap either! There are a few songs that I didn’t consider rap until you pointed it out to me that one time, (Limp Biskit - Break Stuff…they had guitars in it, so I didn’t consider it rap) I just thought it was really angry music.

When it comes to metal, I love Lita Ford, Ozzy, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Warrent (I love “Cherry Pie” and “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”), Motley Crue, Kiss, and many others.

Another thing I can’t stand is my next door neighbor has two large dogs and they don’t clean up after them in the yard. I hate having to smell that sh!t when I am outside in my own yard. I love to work on my garden and this smell made my job miserable two days ago. They just let it build up and then eventually clean it up. Ironically they used to complain that the neighbor next to them on the other side with a small dog wouldn’t clean up after it and it bothered them. I almost got a wire-hair dachshund a few days ago but it went to another family and I would have cleaned up after it daily just like I clean my cat’s litter box almost daily. I don’t dare knock on their door, they scare me and those two large mean dogs are pit bulls. When they come outside, I bring my kids inside.

Another pet-peeve I have is with my husband. We have this medicine cabinet in the bathroom that is not sliding but opens and closes on a hinged door. For nearly 15 years, at our old home and at this one, he never closes it completely, it’s always ajar by an inch, I can always tell because the angle is off when I go in there. It’s annoying, I tell him about it and there are times I think he does this on purpose LOL

Speaking of bathrooms…when my son or husband leaves the seat up! Once, in the middle of the night, the lights were off, I used the bathroom and I fell in…that pi$$ed me off ( no pun intended) like you wouldn’t believe.

When my husband leaves all of his tools laying around and it’s been there for days, I pick them up and put them away and he says “I was about to use those! Don’t touch my tools”

LOL sometimes if Slithor asks me why I was in the bathroom so long, I’d say something to the effect of “I got stuck because you left the seat up.”

A few more things I want to add.

Cheddar bugging me while I’m on my laptop.

Same cat jumping on the table.

Having to return a book back to the library before I could read it.

Feeling like I’m one of the few people at my job who care.

  1. Andrew Lloyd Weber. I’d say I’m sorry, but Sondheim is far superior. Into the Woods was genius, Assassins! is pretty much a pile of glory, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was wonderfully darkly hilarious. Also a lot more discordant than Danny Elfman allowed the score to be.

  2. Male nerds bringing up the “But men are objectified too!” argument. Talk to me about how bad men have it in the entertainment industry when 90% of entertainment seen to have “quality” isn’t aimed at men. Thor and Avatar: the Last Airbender were steps in the right direction. Coraline and Nickelodeon’s attitude toward The Legend of Korra shows just how far we have to go.

  3. The expression the Thunderkittens wear when they’re eating candy fruit. Dear bog, uncanny valley. I half expect them to either seize out or start taking things apart to find the government probes.

  4. The Mass Effect 3 ending. But I’ll say no more about it.

  5. Joffrey Lannister. That boy ain’t right. So not right, he’s making me glad to see Tywin and Roose Bolton.
    Merged Post:

That happened to me last week. Such a sad feeling.

Probably for the best. It’s very a divisive issue, I’ve found. In fact, I had an argument with one of my cousins on Facebook about it, and normally we’re on the same page about a lot of things. But on this one we couldn’t agree.

I won’t say which side of the argument I’m on. What I will say, though is that I don’t approve of the behavior of some of the fans on this whole issue. They just could be acting in a more mature fashion about it. I haven’t played ME3 yet; only just completed my first playthrough of ME2. But that having been said, I’ll probably wait for the extended cut DLC before I do. Until then I’ll play something else, like The Witcher.

I’m not a fan of my younger sister hanging out with those same losers from high school that didn’t amount to anything and her wasting her life. I’m not a fan of her not growing the hell up! She’s 34 years old, not 17. She and her friends still dress in the same stupid way with t-shirts that depict heavy metal bands or offensive content, heavy make-up and too busy partying and neglecting her responsibilities and her children. Where the f**k does she get the money to do this $hit?

I am not a fan of people that are in their 30’s and live with their parents or in-laws that don’t work. I’m not talking about those that lost their job due to the bad economy, nooooooo, I’m talking about those that refuse to work or who habitually get fired and have everyone else pick up the tab. Especially those that have a spouse and children and still live with their parents. I’ve seen it and it sickens me to no end! My cousin Dan does this all of the time! Soon as he is forced to get a job, he’ll work it and soon as they start taking child support out, he’ll either quit or purposely get fired. He goes back and forth from living with his parents or my sister.

I may be on disability for depression but atleast I am in college trying to make something of myself so I can get a good job so I can get off of disability. I hate lazy people. My husband gets partial disability from the army but he still goes to work and he’s in his late 50’s. There are younger men that don’t work and they could, they just rather rely on family than even doing some kind of effort to float in an application now and then, the same goes for lazy women too, especially my younger sister.

I’m not a fan of customers who don’t let me finish a sentence. I feel like I’m wasting my time talking to this person and want to move on to someone who’s ready to listen. I just want to raise my arms, wish them a nice day and walk off to the next person.
