I think the new ThunderCats stands a better chance as the I think the toys will be popular among kids and I’m sure that kids will also take to the new cartoon. Remember we have the producers and animation team behind it that are behind some of the most popular kids shows right now such as Ben 10.
I think it will at least last longer than the 200x He-Man series did.
As for the classics line, yeah I thought we’d see another 2 figures at SDCC… here’s hoping we hear news on more figures soon!
I want to say that they said exactly that at one point, although I couldn’t tell you when or where. Someone else probably knows.
Assuming I’m not making it up, Bandai’s going to be making the classics line even if the cartoon flops. But I would imagine that success in the cartoon would make the classics line easier to find and in greater quantities.
I still don’t get why people keep thinking it’s going to flop. Ben 10 is still alive because of the TOYS. And who makes those toys, BANDAI. If it where to flop it’d be thanks to Stuart Snyder’s horrible channel management.
Just curious - has anyone asked or heard if Bandai has the rights to the Rankin/Bass characters or if they can only make Classics from the original toys? I’d love to have some of the classic cartoon characters that were never made but should have been!
We know Warner owns TigerSharks and SilverHawks aswell, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Bandai is given the go to make figures for those, specially the latter.
