Pum-Ra is a character I didn’t even consider. I think he’d be awesome if they make him!
I think a wave 2 is likely, after that it’ll depend on how they sell.
Now for Wave 2, I think it’ll be Panthro and Cheetarah. Mumm-Ra makes sense since he’d be more popular however, to make an in scale figure of Mumm-Ra in the 8" would be HUGE, unless its mummy mumm-ra so I don’t see them making him unless he’s 8" and not in scale with Lion-O. Not sure how they’d do WilyKit/Kat, they’re too small to be on their own bot too big to give both of them in one pack. I also think we’d likely see the other three extra thundercats before we see other villains like the Mutants. Jaga would be an easy figure to re-paint and have two variants, the ghost version and the alive.
I have to admit, I’m not crazy about the classics line, I like Thundercats but not enough to get a 8" figure of them, I wish they were in smaller scales, maybe if the classics line and the 4" line is succesful we’ll get 4" classics, now that I would love.

The way I look at it is as a Collectors line. I did read that there were talks of the classics line goin 6" as well.
Anyway you slice it, if they make it in 8", 6" and 4" I will collect them all.
Personally I like the 4" and 6" size options for the classic line and would love to see a 12" or 9" collectors line with cloth costumes (9" would be ideal to go with my marvel signature series figures on my display shelf). I think sideshow 12" pieces would be nice, but that might be too rich for my blood. If there were a 9"inch line like that instead of 12" they might be able to make a thundertank to go with it.

Thats a great choice! Well they did say they are testing the waters with the initial 2, so hopefully the sales exceed expectations and they do 3-4 figures per series. That way we get more sooner. The more the merrier!
I do hope they eventually make wily kit and wily kat,and they are treated with the same quality as the rest of the line. They need to be just as articulated as the 8" figures and I think they should make Wily Kit come with his sky board and Mum-mutt, and Wily Kat come with maybe a sky board and snarf.
Yeah I’ve been advocating for a Sideshow or Hot Toys line of Thundercats on here since before it was announced that Bandai got the license.
That would be AWESOME, and I’m hoping WB has something in the pipes. It would make sense, I mean they already licensed it out to $200+ and $400 statue companies, why wouldn’t they approach Sideshow for a highly articulated 12" line for $150? Its cheaper than the statues and IMO much more appealing. Cloth clothes, possibly diecast accessories where applicable, extra clothes (like Lion-O’s cape and crown from the coronation ceremony after the trials).
I’m no statue collector just because I don’t like statues, not because I couldn’t afford the HH collection. I wouldn’t think twice about dropping the same price the 12" Joes go for over at Side Show or a similar offering from Hot Toys.
I really really really hope the statue lines are a prelude to this eventually coming to fruition.
I’d like to see a villian also. Slithe, Monkian, Jackalman, or Mumm-Ra. I really hope we get most characters made. I think if I had to choose one, I would actually really like to see a Classics Grune. His character was one of my favorites as a kid. And I’ll definitely be buying every size of these lines, no matter what they make!
I’m not a big fan of statues myself either. They have made a vast improvement over the years though. Seeing the new thundercats statues at comic con, made me almost think twice. They looked incredible. I had to step back and think about it. I just had to realive that they are not poseable and are very fragile. I was just hoping that we would hear something about TC’s coming back due to the awesome statues, and if they did they could look as good as those statues. Now, after seeing the classics, I know we got nothing to worry about. I just hope they last a long long time.

Four per box? I expected six. Who knows, Bandai sometimes releases first wave figures, and replaces duplicates with the newer ones come the second wave.

Lion-O (x1), Tygra (x1), Panthro (x1) & Mumm-Ra (x1) with Lion-O and Tygra getting discountinued later.
My mistake they are actually selling 2x liono and 2x tygra thats where the 4 came from.

I think Jaga would probably be my all time favorite. Actually, if they made a young Jaga and a Ratilla in the Classics line I could die a happy man. That episode alone, where the two of them square off in the beginning and then Jaga hurls the sword of Plundarr into lava was one of my all time favorite memories as a kid. I really hope this line gets the attention it deserves.
I was kind of sad we didn’t hear anything else about the next toys after tigra at SDCC. In fact NOTHING new was released about thundercats at SDCC.
yea I get the feeling they are really waiting to see how the initial sales go before they release info on the next wave. maybe they are trying to see if they need to hold back reveals to gain interest? i have no clue, but i really cant wait to hear where they are going with the classics and new age large scale figures
I was expecting to see the next couple classiscs figures during SDCC. The fact that nothing new was shown makes me worry about the longevity of the line and gives me pause as to whether or not I want to invest in it only to have an incomplete collection.
Since it is an adult line and clearly separate from the cartoon and cartoon related stuff, does that mean that even if the cartoon fails to catch on, the classics line could still continue?
Maybe I’m just burned by the failed 2002 He-Man relaunch, but I’m worried the same will happen with the Thundercats relaunch too.
