Is it just me or are some of the news headings on the front page a little screwed up?
The heading for the deviant artwork news is: Region 2 Thundercats S1V2 DVD up for pre-order!

Yeah, when Mark posted the auction news he edited the HTML instead of using Blogger.
Hey Mark, I sent you an invite to Blogger a couple weeks ago via email (May 30 to be exact)…if you accept the invite, it simplifies the posting.

On the subject at hand - can this problem be corrected? Whilst I realise that it’s just a mistake, I agree with Neil that stuff like this looks unprofessional if left uncorrected…

You’re quite right, Manny, it displays normally for me now - that’ll teach me to post without checking the page in question first, LOL!
And BTW, if sometime someone could provide me with an “idiot guide” on how to post an update to the front page via Blogger that would be terrific - just because, if I’m honest, just once I’d love the experience of doing it!

Just posted some new news concerning the upcoming UK S1V2 DVD set on the front page and I’m afraid to say it’s screwed up the news article below!
I swear I did nothing other than submit the news article via blogger.
I also have a feeling some other news items are labelled wrong as well! I presume that Cel auction news under my latest news article is ‘week 3’?
Well the next Cel auction news further down is ‘week 1’ so where has the ‘week 2’ news gone?? Is the Week 1 wrongly labelled? and should really be ‘week 2’?
I’m wondering now if it would be a good idea to check all the news entries for the last few months to make sure they are all correct?

You’ve also got these peculiar symbols that appear very occasionally in TCL HTML - namely: £17.99 (note the symbol that appears before the UK pounds sign). I encountered this when I created some pages that Kyle then modified on his Mac and uploaded the changes, for some reason him doing that created that peculiar letter “A” in place of hyphons (-) and quotes (“”). Neither he nor I have any idea why, only that I had to go into the pages and change them back, LOL!

To further chris’ comment I figured out why we encountered this issue.. basically HTML has different encoding types to allows certain punctuation and other font items to display correctly in different browsers.. For them to display correctly I had to save the document with UTF8 encoding. That adds metadata to the page that browsers read..
Just thought I would waste a moment of your lives explaining that
Blogger had some site issues and I think it was uploading correctly. I tried to republish your post Neil, but Blogger stalled. Try republishing it again…I’m pretty sure it is an issue of it not being published correctly and nothing to do with the HTML template. This has been the only time we’ve had problems with Blogger so I’m sure it’ll be resolved soon.

As far as I know, I believe Mark never posted a week 2…I don’t recall it being on the front page, only week 1 and week 3. Hopefully, Mark can confirm that there was no week 2…
Actually there was only ever supposed to be a single post, when week 1 was over I replaced that news story with week 2, and on Tuesday this week I replaced week 2 with week 3.
Then like a phantom ship week 1 made a reappearance!
I’ll download blogger and use that instead going forward, but I don’t think I got the invitation you mentioned Manny.

I deleted my post and then reposted it so it displays with todays date.
I’m guessing now that if two seperate news articles are posted within the same day, the first article has the date and title removed from it?
Oh well, it’s displaying ok now.
Well every news entry is supposed to go into the archive and it gets confusing when news articles disapear or get replaced. It’s best if you make a brand new post everytime you enter some new news on the front page I think.
My advice now would be to edit the entry that says ‘Week 1’ so it covers both Week 1 and Week 2. That way anyone browsing the news archive won’t get confused. It’s up to you and Manny though I guess.
