New ThunderCats Series = SilverHawks Revamp?

I know Silverhawks followed Thundercats’ succesful recipe in all stages as far as the production is concerned but i’ve never been a big fan of the cartoon and i haven’t watched all of the 65 episodes to form a precise opinion. Still, i think it would be great if they gave them another "modernized"shot if Thundercats 2011 come up to our expectations

I would like to see the Silverhawks in the Thundercats’ cartoon!

They could be the interstellar police force with Mandora as a member.

If they update some of the names, that would be great i.e. Steelwill to Gridiron and Steelheart to Sterling.

I’d love to see Mandora with Bluegrass, Hotwing, Steelheart and Stellwill working with or against the Thundercats.

I’ve always loved Silver Hawks as much as Thundercats, so it’s got my vote :slight_smile:

Yeah, I’d be down for a revamp of Silverhawks. I’ve been trying for years in vane to get my friend’s collection from him haha.

I do like silverhawks… But its nowhere near as good as thundercats for me…

Like Screamers, I’ve been a SilverHawks fan from day 1. As a matter of fact I bought a Miraj a few years ago. Of course, SilverHawks nor TigerSharks was ever up to par with Thundercats, but I would definitely like to see a revival.

Would be cool, but as poorly as the DVD sold (by evidence of the fact there’s no Volume 2 in sight), I don’t see this happening.

Although as I stated earlier, a great litmus test if they want to give it another shot would be to introduce the Silverhawks as characters at the start of a 3rd or 4th season, in a 5 part story arc. Not only would this, IMO, be a great way to refresh Thundercats after 2-3 full seasons, but you should be able to tell if there’s a significant spike in the audience during the segment as to whether or not there’s any real interest out there (aside from what they already did with the DVD release).

I just don’t see them bringing the series back cold the way it sprang on the scene in the 80s. While we are seeing quite the 80s revival, some what I like to call 3rd tier shows like Inhumanoids, TigerSharks, Visionaries, Jayce & the Wheeled Warriors will probably never see the light of day again, and even some 2nd tier shows like Bravestarr and Silver Hawks are going to be tough sells to get out on the airwaves even if potential gateway shows like the new Thundercats and a new MOTU show do very well. Just getting a top flight Rankin/Bass show like Thundercats rebooted took 20+ years. The room for market saturation has sunk significantly from what it was in the 80s with stuff like iPods, video game consoles, youtube, cell phones, tablets, and a handful of other things that have all nudged action figures out of the way in terms of what kids want to play with and the shows they are based on that they watch on t.v.

In short, I just wouldn’t put too much hope into it.

I couldn’t agree more with your thoughts on the 80’s cartoons Grune. To say the least, the majority of the 3rd tier shows you mentioned like Tigersharks, Bravestar or Silverhawks don’t even have a Fansite on the web to keep the interest fresh, support the history of the cartoons and provide information or an Encyclopedia guide to them. The unceasing passion of the fans plays a pivotal role to each cartoon’s revival, the Companies never make decisions on the fly, consequently it wouldn’t be an overstatemnt to say that had it not been for our voice here, the Thundercats Lair Site, Thunderctas most likely would have remained in limbo for much longer…

The existense of a Site is of paramount importance in maintaining any franchise alive.
