Just wanted to sound you guys out on opinions, would anybody be up for trying to lay down an episode of ThunderCast sometime within the next few weeks?
With all the new reveals from Bandai/WB, plus the relaunch of the site, we definitely have enough new material to cover, plus it would be awesome to keep the ThunderCast ball rolling!
If at all possible I’d really like Nick to be the host again, and in fact remember Nick mentioning about doing another episode - are you still up for it, my friend, and if so can you give us an idea of when you’d be available over the next few weeks?
Also, if any of the rest of you guys would be up for taking part, it would be great to know who’s up for it and when you’d be available - I have a sneaking feeling there might be a lot of takers for this one, so hope we’ll be able to hit on a date and time that works for everyone!
I’d be happy to sit in on this one, but depends when it is… I have a terrible soar throat right now (damn colds!) and am actually in bed as I write this…and as Chris will know, I must be ill to be in bed this early!
Sore throats are the worst thing EVER! Take some ibuprofen and try gargling with (very) salty water. Hope you feel better Neil!
And yeah, I wouldn’t have thought we’d be looking at a date this side of you feeling better, as a timeframe off the top of my head I was thinking maybe back end of next week, although obviously it’s down to Nick.
I’m unavailable next weekend but either before or after (although Thursday from 6PM UK time to around 9PM UK time is a no no due to recording my own podcast) is great with me. Anyone who wants to dip in for the podcast just needs to have Skype and can make an available date/time.
But can someone make a show plan for me? It’s hard for me to find the time to do one since I’m having to do so much college work these days. Any help would be much appreciated.
Obviously, topics are: Announcement of new series, thoughts of look etc, Larry Kenney and Matthew Mercer being announced as working on it, new toys, Cartoon Network, thoughts on writers etc working on it, site launching etc. Just throw in all sorts.
Just as a date off the top of my head, how would Sunday 27th February be as a recording date for everyone? This date works well for me as I will have got a gig and a preceding series of intense rehearsals out the way by then, plus it would give us all time to prepare, etc. What do you all think?
INSERT EDIT: Oh yes, and just to add that this date would also hopefully give Neil time to get rid of what sounds like a terrible cold - hope you’re feeling better, my friend!
No worries, Nick, I can sort that for you - would you still be OK for editing everything once we’re recorded, though? I have editing software on my new Mac but am still finding my way round everything so it would be better if you were able to lend your experienced hand to that side of things. Please would this be OK? Many thanks!
Sunday 27th February still works well for me at the moment - is this date OK for everyone else who’s interested in taking part, and is there a particular time that would suit everyone best on this date (particularly you, Nick)?
Yes, but are you available for ThunderCast?!? (Sorry guys, my dirty, adult sense of humour creeping in there - I’m sure you can figure it out, LOL!!)
Innuendo aside, great to know you’d be on board, Neil - any particular times that suit you that day, Nick?
Unfortunately now it’s my turn to be suffering with a terrible cold - bad sore throat, etc.!
Not sure what you guys want to do about Sunday and the ThunderCast recording - there’s several days to go until then and so there’s every chance I’ll be a bit better, however I do also have a gig on Saturday night that’s likely to take everything I’ve got in the tank if I’m under-the-weather!
If you wanted to go ahead with the podcast and if necessary do it without me that’s completely cool, alternatively we could reschedule - just LMK what you guys would like to do.
Thanks Nick - can I let you know for certain tomorrow? I’m feeling quite a bit better but have got a horrible cough that I don’t think would sound very nice on the recording! However, another night’s sleep and it may be clearer…
As a fallback, perhaps you could LMK what days/dates would work for you a little bit further forward?
I’ve woken up this morning, although feeling fresh, with a cold of my own. Grr. I’m going to the gym soon so hopefully, it’ll p*ss off.
I’m away next weekend and weekend/week after that (so from 4th to 7th and from 11th to 20th). So anytime around, before or after these dates is okay.
Sorry to hear that, Nick! Let’s reschedule - I’ve still got a bad cough and think that plus my gig tonight is going to wipe out my voice, so think it might be a silly struggle!
Realistically the only workable date for me between those is Tuesday 8th March, ideally at about 7:00pm or later - is that any good for you, Nick? What about for you, Neil? LMK, guys!
Holy hell, hope you’ll be OK MannyC! Sounds like you need to get that checked out by a doctor, my friend, as that’s a lot more than a common-o-garden throat infection…

I’m not sure right now, will let you know nearer the time. But hopefully I’ll be available.

That’s cool, I’d dearly love to have you on board Neil!

Yeah, that’ll do nicely. It’s the day after I’m back from London. We’ll keep it to an hour or so, so that we can cover a wide range of topics. If we go a bit longer, no worries. Just see how everyone is - my cold is still around. Been sniffling and blowing my nose like a fanny… ugh.
That’s great, Nick - well, great about the ThunderCast recording date, not great about your cold! Mine is still causing me problems, sore throat has flared back up again last night and today…just feels like there’s no end to it!
