As stated i know it´s not the best editing, if the video is not to your liking just try to imagine yourself how it would sound and look like.
Is it better? Worse? Same? Should it look different in some way?

Actually it was a pretty good editing Rizefall. I couldn’t notice any skipping or lagging. I love the old sight beyond sight music. I love ALL of the music from the TOS composer Bernie Hoffer.
Personally I haven’t been as impressed with TNS music yet. They should start developing themes for individual characters the way Hoffer did. I’m especially miffed that Cartoon Network decided to axe any kind of intro to the show.
Love it, I was hoping they would have used that piece of music for the SBS, wishful thinking I know.

That’s fantastic, nothing wrong with the editing there IMO - brilliant job! 
Out of interest, what did you use to edit the footage? I’ve recently been playing around with iMovie and having great fun with it, my late uncle was heavily into video editing (the old-fashioned way) and I’m getting a bit of a taste for it myself!

I love that sound, but the combination with the new animation, to me, is a bit off… I think I prefer the new animation with the new sound..
My favorite video editing software would have to be Sony Vega Pro! Very good clean interface with lots of options.

I would have to say i like the old sound there, thing is as someone else said that feels KINDA out of place. If they took the core of it, remade/update it somehow it would have been awesome! The new series sound was not that.. Special, nothing that set it apart from the rest of the sounds around the whole series which is a shame IMO.
I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. Have not tested the updated version but i’m fine with what i have. Been using it for a couple of years now and i gotta say, it’s amazing. Easy and fun to get into but you can do so much stuff with it
