Hi I am a Grandad in need of assistance. I dont know a lot about Thundercats but have 3 children brought up on original Thundercats cartoons/ toys/etc and who now regularly sport Thundercats T shirts and watches. My daughter has a daughter who in turn has been introduced to vintage Thundercats and
they have quite a collection of playworn characters and vehicles and a PeterPan Playthings Thundercats game that no one can work out how to play.

Anyway my current role is to repair items broken by the aforesaid family and the latest casualty is Cheetara. I have had a brief email exchange with
Manny who suggested I join to ask for help from the group. That is ok but
I now have to make 5 entries to be able to post and as I hardly feel qualified to comment/reply on any of the posts it will take forever.
The email exchange follows and i will try and attach a pic.
The head can indeed rotate, however there is not much rotation that could happen due to the hair as you mentioned. Most if not all of the figures of the figures do have a rotating head. Hope this helps. If you would like more help with perhaps fixing your figure you can sign up at our forums and i=perhaps post a picture of the damage so that we can advise on how to best fix it. Hi - hope you can help . My Cheetara has been decapitated in an agressive battle between grandchildren.

Currently on life support pending repair , I wonder if you can advise if the head is meant to turn at all or
was it originally in a fixed position.From inspection the remains of the spinal column in the neck do not appear to be circular
which suggests that end was fixed.The portion remaining in the head is circular and that would allow for rotation but I cannot
turn it and also it seems to me that the hair would not allow for rotation of more than 1mm

I am thinking of inserting 2 steel pins in the head end and trying to turn the
head using the pins- when it is free I will remove the pins and reconnect the head by drilling out the centre of both head and body ends of the spindle and gluing in a new plastic centre (cotton bud seems about the right size) Anyone any experience of trying this type of repair?

Hi there…welcome to the forums. Since i recognized your name and we had a brief exchange concerning your figure i have edited the permissions and you are now able to post freely. Feel free to ask mroe questions concerning fixing figures. Im sure some members here would be able to chime in on how to best go about in doing that

picture attached hopefully:confused: Any useful comments re repair gratefully received. Even confirmation that it is the piece in the head that should turn would greatly assist me.

From my own experience, Cheetara head can move, but due to the thin neck peg (common on all thin/female toy figures) trying to move it when it has been stationary for many years will likely lead to snapping the head off.

This is exactly how I lost my original Cheetara I had in 1988. Lucky for me, my mum and dad bought me another Cheetara for Christmas 1992 (this was when Woolworths were selling off their remaining stock and was the last time I saw ThunderCats at UK retail!)

Unfortunately I don’t think this figure is fixable for the head to move again. I think its a case of gluing it back on (but the head will be stationary) Alternatively, you might be best buying a another loose Cheetara from eBay? Loose figures without their weapons usually sell for a reasonable price.

Maybe they should make a Barbie Cheetara doll. :cool: Or how about a Bratz Cheetara doll? :stuck_out_tongue:
