I am surprised that the animation studio did not do the one minute 30 seconds intro that is typical of anime. As this show will probably air in Japan, they may get a full intro, neh.

Yeah I don’t doubt at all that if it airs in Japan it will get a brand new intro. Transformers: Animated did.

I did a library program once on anime with 20 minutes of openings. That one minute 30 seconds tells you everything you need to know about a show, and is a mini masterpiece. US Thundercats 2011 at least deserves that.

I personally think that Thundercats’ intro is synonymous with the show itself. I mean if you’re going to redo it and not consider doing the intro, its like you’re making a cake without any icing of sorts. It’s not a big deal for me but like I said, its in integral part of Thundercats. And that sort of mentality where they said since the OS had such an awesome intro and what’s the point in doing it, well that maybe the reason they couldn’t muster up something.
I’ll keep saying. It’s CN’s fault and not the people behind it. Just LOOK at the stupid network. For years it’s been trying to become like Disney Channel, it has neglected countless animated properties. It’s run by idiots. They KNOW the show will be a hit. It’s going to be one of the most viewed, they want to shove as many comercial air time one it as possible. Countless promos for Johnny Test, DBD and DWWH. -_-’
And Dan Norton PRAISES the original opening, how the staff behind it would be against an intro is beyond me.
I think it was Jelenic who said it about why bothering to improve on the original, so that statement didn’t sit well with me. But yes it’s CN fault for the most part. Although, I don’t get why cut down on intro for sake of 2 or 3 ads. Most ads run for 15-30 sec no?

Just by comparing the 1985 to 2011 “Ho!” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7bhdwcAnH0 the updated animation would had already been an improvement, and I’m sure many people would’ve enjoy it..ALOT.
I guess :). But what I was really wondering was whether or not 2-3 ads would bring them so much money to sacrifice their show. They can play those ads during the end credits.
I only hope we get the intro for DVDs.
he never said “why bother.” what he always said was he didn’t think he could top it so they weren’t going to try to top it. that’s not the same thing as saying they wouldn’t try to put out a good intro, just that they weren’t specifically trying to compete with it.
Well that’s how it sounded like, that he didn’t want to try or compete, but it doesn’t matter though. We’re not getting a fully fledged intro anyway :(. But I’m glad the show, the thing that matters most, seems promising.

I’m pretty sure it’s the channel. This show will be a huge hit. It’ll be one of their most viewed shows. So what better show to air their horrible promos for the failure liveaction they want to see succeed than this one? =/
but how do you explain these shows that air on cartoon network:
-Ben 10: Ultimate Alien 21 sec intro
-Generator Rex 21 sec intro
-Young Justice 24 sec intro
-Adventure Time 25 sec intro
Even more proof it’s the channel. Look at the intros for Ben 10: Alien Force and the original Ben 10. They’re longer.
Hell, look at any intro from older shows, they’re longer.
Yet shows on Nickelodeon and Disney still have decently long intros.
And I just noticed this since today I bothered to watch the dreaded channel.

Am I the only one who got goose bumps when Lion-O sent Mumm-ra through the WALL after he did the ThunderCats chant?
My favorite part of the “first episode” that’s why i had that in after. Just end it after he raised the sword jsut seemed wierd.
