Just had a great new idea for something to add to every single toy in our LJN toy guide! Dimensions
What I mean is the height, width and depth of every toy. Earlier today I was thinking about my Cats Lair and before I got it (pre 2002) I’d always wondered how big it actually was and I thought this would be great to add to the Cats Lair page.
But then I got thinking about all the figures and the fact that they are all in varying sizes. So it’s definately worth entering these facts I think. It will also be nice to give as much information about each toy as possible, especially for those who could never afford a Cats Lair, Tongue-A-Sauras etc…
I doubt it would be too hard to incorporate into the existing guide!
Even though the Toy Section’s not my baby, I have to say I think this is an outstanding idea! Until very recently I had serious space issues, and so any new toy that I would buy almost needed measuring before I could get it to know if it would fit - I remember a couple of years ago buying a MOTU Roton vehicle, I had to get a friend of mine to measure theirs for me before I could get it!
Well i do agree that it is a rather unique idea which will take time IMO. What measuring system will be used, etc which I think should be inches. I believe it would also be helpfull for carded/MIB items because it would give the dimensions in case someone needed to make any custom cases. I can help with boxed items but it will take some time. Definitely something that could be done slowly just like any other project
I tend to disagree here Manny. I think once started it’s a fast and easy project. All you need is a ruler/tape measure and notepad. Tell you what, you do all the boxed stuff and I’ll do all the loose stuff. Then for the carded figures we can split those!
Then all we need to do is enter the details on each existing page. I reckon it will be fairly easy!
Well how about we split it 3 ways. Neil can take the loose items, I can take carded samples and Matt can take boxed samples. If there’s any gaps then whoever has the item fills in
Sounds good to me! However I won’t be able to do Astral Moat Monster or the Stilt Runner as I don’t have those loose I’ll also do the weapons as well!
Like I said in my first post in this thread, even though the Toy Section isn’t my baby, I think this could be a very useful addition to the toy guide we have here on TCL! For the figures it may not be as essential because they tend to be a reasonably standard size, but for the vehicles, playsets, etc., I think this could be very useful info to make available!
