Mark, the 4H would disargee on that … I listened to podcast where one of them said that Mattel did have the option to buy the TC rights when Bandai did, but chose not to, possibly as they were scared that it would damage the MOTU brand at that stage in time … which makes sense to me, seeing that MOTU is a major Mattel brand.
But I must say, better late than never … at least 4H is doing them (even if they base it on MOTUC buck) I still think they will be the best TC’s figures yet!
Thundercats is Thundercats, it has nothing to do with MOTU. They worked on Ghostbusters, DCUC and Voltron at the same time as MOTUC and they didn’t damage the MOTU brand so I don’t see how Thundercats could have.
Well whatever way you look at it, Mattel didn’t get it earlier and Bandai did make a mess of it … I still think we are lucky to even get new TC figures.
Like already said, 4H is probably more to thank than Mattel, as they are the guys that wanted to do TC’s for a while now.
I hope the line does good.
The best thing all of us can do is just to reserve judgement until the first figure/Lion-O gets released.
My comment wasn’t directed at you it was directed at the comments about them looking cheap and being painted chipped.
I agree with a lot of the comments in the last few pages. Yes Mattel should listen to the fans about changes that need to be made on things that are feasible. I also agree that Mattel doesn’t care if we call them Satanic toy overlords as long as we hate them and pay the $25+ a month for their toys. There is a balance though with valid criticism an hate week style rants that are sometimes based on assumption and false info.
I’ve collected MITU Classics from the beginning, of course there have been some issues (every toy line has that), but overall it is an amazing (and thorough) collection…that keeps going.
Having been part of that fan base and on those message boards for a while, I can say that there is nothing people on a message board could say towards Mattel that hasn’t been said. No amount of vitriol is going to make them stop making toys if they are selling.
I had hoped that the negativity wouldn’t have seeped over to Thundercats and here…but that’s just how it is I guess.
I don’t really see all the “negativity” everyone else seems to be seeing in this thread. I’ve seen some criticisms, but for the most part everyone seems excited, or at least wishes the line well if they’re not getting the figures themselves.
Certain members could not engage in a civil conversation about action figures. Instead they have their own thread were you can only post nice things about the Classics. LOL.

There was a negativity thread a week or so ago. It had to be locked because when you encourage that type of stuff everyone goes buckwild and fights the whole thread.
It wasn’t a negativity thread. I just said I wouldn’t be subscribing.
I am not keen on Mattel or the MOTUC buck but I did say I still planned on buying some of them.
I should have made it clear that the biggest reason I wasn’t subscribing was that I am collecting and buying other things. 
That’s right I remember it being a " why you won’t subscribe" thread but it turned into a pretty heated arguement quickly though. There should be a thread where people can vent on what they dislike about the line it’s just hard to maintain I think because passions run high.
Yeah I said ‘’…collecting’’ instead of ‘‘subscribing’’. I meant collecting in the completest sense. Sadly some over passionate ‘‘fans’’ took it the wrong way.

I am very pleased with the way Lion-O is turning out. I would consider it the best Lion-O figure produced to date.
He looks amazing…every time I see any update it looks better…still can’t believe we’re finally getting these line awesome action figure form…
