I will be signing up Monday for sure. I really like the choices they made for the opening round. I am in it for the long haul so I am glad they held off on some of the core and the first set has some of my absolute favorites. Think we will see some images/prototypes at toy fair next month?

I read somewhere that Eric “Cornboy” Mayse of 4H was quoted as saying that 10 figures have already been sculpted. Vultureman was also not announced. Some may remember a “bird like creature” was referenced before SDCC last year but not shown.
With Jaga and Grune announced a Ghost of Jaga/Grune set for SDCC is possible
Obviously from my avatar I am really excited! I didn’t expect Pumyra so early. I’m looking forward to a character that hasn’t been done too, I’m sure they’re coming (Lunataks).
I will be ordering multiple subs Monday.
I’m sure they will show the prototypes (and some actual production figures) for all the figures at Toyfair. The Horsemen said they finished 10 figures already.
Here is something I didn’t realize before.
The $25 subscription fees covers the cost of the club-exclusive Mumm-Ra figure. We will be charged only for shipping and taxes when that figure gets shipped.
Unless someone is not planning to have all the 7 figures from the 2016 lineup, I don’t know why would anyone not go for the subscription option.
I am going for the monthly option cause I don’t want to wait for 3 months. But if some fans especially international fans wants to save on shipping, they can choose the quarterly option.

Fingers crossed subbing for TC goes easier than trying to for the new MOTU one which has been a nightmare…

Never signed up for a subscription before. What kind of problems did people run into? What is Digital River?
Dang wasn’t expecting it so early! Do subscriptions ever get sold out? I won’t be able to get one until next weekend.
I don’t see subscriptions being sold out. Also more subscribers gives them a fair idea of the number of confirmed buyers.
But in order to make sure fans jump on the subscription model early on, they may keep the subscription order process for a short duration. I am hoping it will be at least for couple of weeks if not for a whole month.
I never subscribed to MOTUC as I wanted only some selected figures. But with TCats I want all the figures, so I will be subscribing every year so that I don’t have to worry about losing out on the figures during the sale date every month.
The subscription starts on Monday, yet there is no official announcement by Matty on Facebook, Twitter nor through their newsletter.
Did someone discover the subscription page accidentally before it was meant to go live for another date? Is it meant for another week in January? Perhaps they will revise the start date.
How are fans supposed to know there is a subscription for ThunderCats toys on Monday when hardly any toy and collector sites have been given an official notification and press release? Only Toy News International website reported this yesterday (Friday) on this so far.
This leads me to believe the subscription window will be open for a longer duration and hopefully Matty will confirm it on Monday.

I’ll subscribe as I really want this line to succeed, but the lack of Tygra or Cheetara is heartbreaking. Perhaps my finger isn’t on the fandom’s pulse, but I’ve always thought Panthro was one of the least popular main characters. Hoping Mattel hasn’t shot themselves in the foot by trying to be too eclectic the first time out.
I will be subbing on Monday! For those of you familiar with the Mattel subscriptions, how much money would one think I could save by going with the quarterly option here in the US? As much as I would be thrilled to receive the figures as soon as they are released the sub is a big financial commitment for me and if I could save a bit still knowing my figures are reserved for me I might go with that option.

Hey, just to answere your questions. Digital River deal with posting the figures. From what I’ve seen some people have gone years on the MOTU line and never had a problem, whereas for others it’s been a constant battle. I’ve decided to buy figures on the aftermarket because for me it’s worth paying extra just to not have to deal with DR.
There’s a fixed thread on He-Man.org collectors forum if you wanna see more. As always those getting bed service are the most vocal.
Tygra and Cheetara will be in 2017.

There was some mad behaviour with MOTU fans buying subs.

As I mentioned before Matty’s lack of promotion for the ThunderCats subscription is very puzzling. I wonder if in the next one hour the page would actually go live for ordering.
That is so strange…i have the link open to purchase my sub, but I saw nothing and now way of reaching it from Mattycollector…Why wouldnt it be on their front page!!!
Here is a rough example for shipping cost, without the inclusion of any taxes which is applicable on some US states.
Domestic Standard Shipping for 1 figure is $11.59
Domestic Standard Shipping for 3 figures is $15.29
If you go with monthly option, for 3 months (one quarter) you would be totally paying $34.77
If you go with quarterly option, you would be paying once in 3 months 15.29. So you are saving $19.48 each quarter and that’s about $78 each year.
I based these using shipping cost for King Hssss Figure which is still available on their store. When it comes to actual shipping cost for ThunderCats figures, my estimates could be way off though.
After doing the actual math I am contemplating quarterly option myself. I will be using parcel forwarding service and will be shipping them to my US address anyways. I used to do direct international shipping to India before and have lost many MOTUC figures as they would get stolen at customs. My parcel forwarding service offers fast shipping along with insurance, so I think quarterly might be a better option for me too.
