These are not production pieces, but were rather used in press kits and sent to studios for promotional purposes.
Not sure where these belong, probably under Cartoon somewhere, maybe merchandise (kind of) but it’s not animation art, that’s for sure.

It’s just a case of Kyle or I doing the HTML for that subsection and those will be ready to go!

Since Mark’s brought these to everyone’s attention (including mine!), a quick question for you guys - do you think these promotional pieces need watermarking?
There are loads of these online at the Rankin-Bass website: http://www.rankinbass.com/thundercatshome.html , where I believe they are all unwatermarked, which leads me to wonder whether we need to bother to watermark these? If we don’t, I might have been able to get these online and displayed quite soon! Please can you guys LMK what you think?

I’d say we leave them as is without the watermarks. As you mentioned tehy are available at Rankin Bass and so are basically available to anyone, they just have to look a bit

I think we want to apply watermarks as much as possible, but in this case it doesn’t seem like there would be a benefit in doing so

These were actually not that hard to do - the whole job took me about 2 hours, which for an HTML dummy like me building TCL webpages is not that long!
If these pages work, these are all ready to be included as part of this weekend’s update!

They look really good Chris, what are you using to position the thumbs? Dreamweaver?
Also, is there any reason why we couldn’t include the scans that are up on the Rankin Bass site? They’re public domain as far as I’m concerned. I don’t see why we couldn’t post them and mention the source.

Believe it or not, the thumbnails are all displayed using the template that Kyle created for your Animation Art cel gallery, I just copy-and-pasted the coding and altered the HTML coding for the images! The pain in the backside with this was resizing the images so that the thumbs were all a standard size (apart from the three that are portrait instead of landscape anyway!) - that took me about 20 minutes for all those! 
How big are your thumbnails on the Guide Sheets page you’ve done, Mark, are all the landscape ones a standard width? If so, it actually wouldn’t be hard to take those and put them into a table like I’ve used there, the labour-intensive area would be inserting the coding you’ve used to create the “flash viewer” effect…
I’d be happiest getting permission to use them, but I’m happy to go with the flow - what do the rest of you guys think?

Mark: As an exercise, I just had a go at an index page for the Guide Sheets, displayed in the same manner as the Promotional Material page I came up with earlier today - unfortunately, I have no clue how to introduce the flash viewer element into the pages, the only thing I can tell from the coding is that it will probably negate the border style that exists around the images on this page.
As a consequence of this, the links to go pages in the Community Gallery rather than where they’re supposed to go - I’d also add that the formatting I did for text on this is the worst thing ever, and it’s missing the paragraph below all the thumbnails - like I say, I threw this together quickly as an exercise! However, if you look at the coding for this page, it should provide you with an insight into how to get the thumbnails to be spaced evenly:

Just an update on this - I took it upon myself to contact the webmasters of www.rankinbass.com regarding the material they have on that site that we don’t have, and received an extremely helpful response from Rick Goldschmidt. Rick has given me permission to host some (or possibly all - I’ve e-mailed him back for clarification) of the ThunderCats-based material they have on their site here at TCL - and has also told me that he has “lots more” ThunderCats stuff that’s not on his site, and which he’d be happy to share with us!!
His one request was, as well as linking to www.rankinbass.com on all the pages we have that feature material he’s donated, if we could also link to his blog, http://www.enchantedworldofrankinbass.blogspot.com/ . That’s fine by me, as it looks like there’s a lot of interesting information on there!
In light of this, once I get the green light from Rick, I shall be expanding the page I created to include the material currently hosted on www.rankinbass.com - there’s no reason why it can’t go “live” in the meantime, but it will hopefully soon be added to - so, watch this space!

Holy thread revival, Batman! Just to let you guys know that, after months of procrastination and forgetfulness, the material that Rick Goldschmidt donated for display on this site is online and ready to go “live”!
For the minute I’ve created an “index2” page until we’re ready to announce this and make it live - I thought I might do it with the next Episode Guide update (which should be very soon). What do you think?
Here’s the revamped section - bear in mind that the sub-menu for the minute will take you back to the page that we have up currently, that will change when “index2” is renamed to “index”! If you guys could take a look at these pages and make sure everything loads correctly, etc., that would be very much appreciated!
