Those of you following my blog know that I managed to write 50000 + words in 23 days. My novel is not Thundercats, but one of the magical realism genre called Coffee with Thunderbolts. I hope to publish it electronically in the next few months as the Mayan calendar play a role, and we don’t want to miss that boat.
I do recommend NaNoWriMo for any fan fiction writer that wants to stretch

Just a NaNoWriMo followup here, I just published my NaNoWriMo book. I was going to put the details in the general marketplace on this forum, but I see that is being reserved for nostalgia item. If you are interested, check my post on Eye of Thundera, or drop me an email.
Every year I want nothing more to participate with NaNoWriMo, but each year’s plans become foiled one way or another. Congrats with all your success.
Thanks, VG. I hear ya on the foiling part. What worked for me was finding what worked on the very first day. I wrote in 2 hour blocks to get my word count. For me, 9-11, and 1-3 worked best. I had the advantage of being unemployed. But if you work, the same tactic can help. I also wrote more than the goal amount each day. That helped if something unexpected came up. If you can do the first week, and be on schedule, you can make it, because then you know you can do it. It also helps if you decide to publish, whether formally or informally. So, have a goal. Let me tell you, just holding a proof of my little potboiler was a major rush, typos notwithstanding.
I can tell you, writing was the easy part. Self-editing the book, doing cover and interior layout, etc. added to the grey hair I already have! But it has opened doors to other opportunities Life is not perfect. And that is good because otherwise there would be no stories to tell.
I recommend Chris Baty’s book: No Plot, No Problem. Also, when you sign on to do NaNoWriMo, the online community is very supportive and regional
So start planning now for November! I hope to see you take up the pen!

I think I may have read your “Thundderan Weavings” when they first came out.
It is quite possible since my fan fiction has been around in one form or another since 1990. I am still adding to TW. Starting a new story this week after a hiatus that involved travel to Sicily, NaNoWriMo, and writing and publishing a non-Thundercats book So drop on by the web page and the blog. Readers are always welcome.

Cool. I try to write. I get a chapter and then I lose interest in what I’m writing. I wish I had the attention span to actually finish writing a story.
My biggest problem is that I write a scene here another there; its getting them to create a complete story is the hard part. I have about 14-15 pages of great scenes that with any luck will come together as a story.

Nine Tiger, I participated last year! I was even interviewed by a radio station for a piece on aspiring authors and NANO. It was an amazing experience and I loved the freedom that comes from throwing everything I have been working on aside, and starting over from scratch!
That manuscript from last year is with a few editors(friends who get paid to actually do that sort of thing, but since they love me so…it’s free!) And I’m seeking out agents to submit it to.
What is the title and genre of your book? Are you doing NaNoWriMo again this year? It must have been a great feeling to have gotten interviewed

Nine Tiger- My novel is young adult adventure. I’m not planning on doing Wrimo this year because I have a lot going on with getting my current manuscript out. I have enough outlines laying around if I do decide to delve into Nano this year.
