My Capt. Shiner.

He’s a recent e-bay purchase and i just got him in. For some reason i always found him to be the most controversial of all the characters. He had a Nazi like demeaner and accent in the cartoon. Anyways, i took some pics for you guys to look over and laugh at. He is a European release distributed by Otto Simon (another reason why this website comes in handy.lol.) All 4 of his corners are pretty good looking, very minor bubble lift, minor card paint pull from glue on right side of top bubble, major crease line in upper right corner. All these problems actually don’t bother me, what does though is the paint scuffing all over this guy. Some paint has blotched on plastic, and his teeth have lost some white, but overall it appears as if he was painted by a monkey. I’m definately not sending this guy in for grading but i’d guess it’s a 65-70 based on the paint issues alone. Anyhow, Capt. Shiner still rocks and i’m happy that he’s in my collection.

…nice piece,

ive always liked capt. shiner, he reminds me of a German SS captain tho. The whole piece doesnt look that bad, it always puzzles me tho how some figures have a great bubble but the figures paint job is poor. …i wonder if, as demand got higher for thundercats people in the factories were pushed to paint quicker.
