I have a new question. and please understand i do indeed read through a lot of back stuff before posting. So i am trying not to repost stuff that’s already been covered. Anywho.. here’s my query: in the new show, are they calling the other beasts mutants? lizards so on so forth. I mean we all know them as the mutants, but is that what the show is going to call them? Mutants imply that they were something else then transformed into something new. So far the show calls them, “the other animals” So is mutant a correct term to use? Opinions? Facts? Maybe an interview somewhere discussing this? I’m no noob to forums, it’s just been a few years since i’ve taken an interest in one. Not since Avatar started anyway. Thanks for the input. 
OmensOfThundera - I don’t know. I haven’t seen them talk that much about the others. But I get the impression that either the species names will change or the character names, since Monkian and Jackalman were not only the names of those two villains, but also the names of their species. Perhaps they will just call Monkians races the Monkeys and Jackalman’s race the Jackals.
I don’t think they’re being called mutants this time around. In one recent interview with the producers one of the lines stood out to me.
“But when we do start off, all the cats, all of the characters that we call the “mutants,” Mumm-Ra… they all start off on what we’re calling Third Earth.”
They had mutants in quotes which makes me think they used it in the interview more for recognition with the readers and that they might not actually be calling them that.
I rewatched the premier today, and they did not say mutants at all. They said the lizards, and they said dogs, but not mutants. I’m guessing every species is going to have a name.
Also while watching I noticed that the lizards said, “you cats hold all the good lands.” “lands” plural.. maybe there are other thundarcat provinces? 
it makes me wonder.
So far they’ve utilized General S-S-lithe. Does anyone know if there are any plans to use the other mutants Monkian, Jackalman, or Vultureman at some point in the new series?
