There were two other kind of mutants in teh series:
Rats (Ratar-O)
Felines (the TCs… they were mutants as well… in fact, I think they originally came from Plun-Darr themselves as a race/kind of mutants that fled the country).
I agree that their names weren’t precisely originals, but neither were the names of the TCs.
Now, on some more mutant species:
Crows kind of equal to vultures, and snakes kind of equal to Slithe.
The mutant Skunk was already brought up in MOTU (Stinkor), and it didn’t work that well because, besides the smell, they didn’t kow what to do with the character.
I’d like to see a bear mutant (super strong to match Pantrho), or a horse one; maybe even a bat mutant.
If we go by the old show, third Earth had native anthro mutants, as well; The Tuska (walruses), the Bolkens (Sheep people), the Wollows, the Brute men, and others.
Personally, I’d like to see some underwater races, like dolphin or fish mutants… kind of like in Tiger Sharks, the other old Rankin-Bass toon!
I really wish they did give names to the lead mutants from the other races. How hard would it have been really? It seems weird to me that Slithe is the only one who gets a name, while the rest are left by just there speices name.
Oh new mutant ideas? That be wicked. I’d love to see a bear Mutant as well, a huge honking mass of Grizzly. Or like in the comics, the Dinosaure ones would be neat too, they make Slithe look like a puppy. Underwater ones would be interesting but be hard to get into more situations seeing well they are under the sea. And wernt the CrabMen basicly water mutants?
I think if there are new kinds of mutants added, they should fit with what the others kinds, who were mostly based on vermin, scavengers, and generally unpleasant animals. Preferably ones from different classes.
We already have two mammals, a bird and a reptile. A scarab might work, and it would fit with the vaguely Egyptian theme the Mutants have going. A cobra might work as well if we include another reptile. If we include other mammals, I’d like to see a bull and boar mutant, like the Ancient Spirits of Evil’s statues.
Frog Man could have made an okay Mutant to fill out the amphibian class. For fish, I think a stingray, piranha, or eel could work.
I think they should leave well enough alone and just stick to the types of Mutants that were in the original. Otherwise they’ll end up being like the old Ninja Turtles cartoon and having a “new mutant of the week” thing.
Forgot about Ratar-O. Surely I didn’t need to specify Mutants from Plundarr to specify what I meant by Mutants.
I agree. I think Bengali, Wilykit, Wilykat, Jaga, and Claudus were the best picked names. I mean - Lion-O, Panthro, Cheetara, Tygra, Lynx-O, Pumyra - makes me glad my parents didn’t name me Human-O.

I thought about that. I could only see that working that they attack the ThunderCats if they try to cross water which would seem hugely unfair. I would vote against dolphins as they’re considered light-hearted and happy creatures.
The others had names too. Monkian, Jackalman, Vultureman, Ratar-O.
Dinosaur mutants would be intriguing, though my mind is flashing back to Jurassic Park at the moment.

I would go with Piranha. I can visualize that best as a mutant.
I don’t think I ever really got into that cartoon. Although I would find it annoying if they introduced a new mutant species “every” week.
I think I saw in a deleted scene that they called Monkian’s race Simians.
Bat mutant would be cool. I was thinking more about an ell mutant. He could be based off a moray eel and have a long extend able neck that he usually keeps tucked away in a heavy suit of armor.
Moray Eels are some of the freakiest looking fish out there. Day glow green anyone? With BRIGHT blue eyes? Oh yes, and if our bite isnt bad enough, we have enough bactiera in our bites to cause really bad infections. AND…some Eels even have a SECOND MOUTH via ALIENS within there mouth. Yep, a little tiny grabber mouth.

But it’s a little more clever, I think. Bengal is a location, not a species. Taking that name and changing it to Bengali I thought was cool. I actually really like the name, it’s the only ThunderCat name I ever thought sounded like a person could be named it (besides Claudus).
