Quick question - a couple of forum members are discussing a website service called, I believe, www.vidtomp3.com , which they’re talking about using to rip mp3’s of music tracks from YouTube videos. It came up in context with new forum member Martin Barreby’s recreations of the ThunderCats score: http://www.thundercatslair.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4124 .
Where do we stand as a website on folks talking about using stuff such as www.vidtomp3.com? Our forum rules ask folks not to share or link to pirated or bootlegged material, so I’m presuming that extends to discussing music piracy (as obviously downloading any commercially-released music via any means except purchasing it is music piracy). I’m anxious not to dive in and make us look too heavy-handed, but at the same time don’t want to let this become too lax - would welcome the input of some of my fellow long-term mods! 
EDIT: Actually I went ahead and locked down the thread on the pretext of it being a duplicate thread (which is true) and posted up a “friendly reminder”. I didn’t tell them not to do it, but just advised them that it is technically music piracy and so not something that’s encouraged or endorsed by this site. I think I made the right judgement call there, so hope you guys agree.
