Wow, that is a great theory, and probably the only way I could see her properly fitting in the NS.
A two part episode were Mumm-Rana help them save Pumyra for Mumm-Ra and the ASOE control would be cool. And the only way I see Mumm-Rana fitting into the NS.
Maybe Jaga might know who Mumm-Rana is. I want her to look more like a mummy, only with a sweet smile on her face. And a bad@$$ ever-living form. Plus she better be more powerful than Mumm-Ra (Who I hope might be her evil little brother), but it’ll be her only real weakness, cos once she uses all her power, she might have to retreat and recharge.
True, and at the same time, Jaga knew who Jaguara was in the OS, so him being aware of Mumm-Rana would make sense
I’d like to see a funny scene where she drags Mumm-Ra by the ear to his doom.
I can imagine this Mum-rana and the lunatacs you are speaking of (as I only saw glimps of them on youtube and read about them on wiki) , coming on third earth after years they have tried to track Mum-ra down and defeat him . I am pretty sure that there were oposing forces to him back in the days when he tried to take control of the universe . and he probably gained some enemies in the worlds he destroyed as well , heck if even his own minions rebeled against him… plus he and the spirits of evil must have an origin .
I want Mumm-ra to have problem with the cats. His mutants failed to many time and so a two or three part episode. Where the Tcat have to fight the set free by mumm-ra Lunataks.
If The Lunataks do appear, I would like for them to be an independent faction that has no loyalty to either Mumm-Ra or The Thundercats.
If they have any ties to the Plundarrian Galaxy that Mumm-Ra destroyed to make The Sword of Plundarr, then the obvious thing to do with them would be to make them the last of their kind & spend their days seeking out Mumm-Ra to get vengeance.
What’s the best way to get vengeance? Why get the other stones of Power of course (which they could have learned about in their travels searching for Mumm-Ra). Who has the other stones? Why the Thundercats of course, so they are going to fry the kitty kats, take the stones, and then seek their revenge on Mumm-Ra.
I was also thinking that each 13 episode arc seems to revolve around setting up the final battle’s location. First it was the Earth, then the Skies, and we are all speculating that the sea will be the staging ground for the next stone battle. But where will the final battle take place? How about Space?!
Picture it: Mumm-Ra’s Black Pyramid repaired and sent into space locked into battle with Skytomb in space above Third Earth as The Thundercats sneak in with the Feliner with their army to help them take down Mumm-Ra and retrieve all the stones.
Huge Lunie fan that I am, one of the things I noticed immediately about Third Earth’s landscape is that it has multiple moons. I’d expect if the Lunatacs appear, they’ll probably be from one of Third Earth’s moons in this series.
I like the notion that Pkell brought up of them being independent in loyalty to either side. They considered themselves “free agents” in the OS, and while they worked for Mumm-Ra, they had no loyalty toward him, and when they were first freed, they wanted to kick his bandaged behind for what he did to them.
Them seeking out the power stones for themselves would be a believable motivation.
I like this Lunataks idea. I just hope we get the chance to see them!
I really do like this theory, because it does open to the idea that others have tried to challenge Mumm-Ra for his power status, and failed, or were servants of his and tried a coup but failed. I feel like these two reasosn are pretty solid as to why he might feel he is above them.
Again - because of the two reasons I found above, this can easily be justified as a reason to fight him. Not to support the TCats (maybe just as far as ‘Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend’) or even use that and try to double cross them.
I feel like if she is a becon of hope for Lion-O it could help once again find a reason that this cat is till deserving of fighting for the greater good. I also feel that if she is more powerful we can get some more action between the two (like a Zuko and Azula type match)
Another reason why I really like this idea, is because it also dives into my theory; The two are borther and sister, and (if we take a note from Roku in ATLA), it could be a huge regret she has - not doing anything to save Mumm-Ra from going on his universal conquest. Because of this she has lost many things that she has cared about, but also because she knows that the TCats have inherited her problems as a result, and will do anything to support them in doing something she never did - giving Mumm-Ra the justice butt-whopping he deserves.
I think since Mumm Ra is animal like, scrunched nose, ala bat, and of course the wings, Mumm Rana might be a more humanoid bird woman. I do think the Cat’s would need her in the new series.
As for the 'Tacs. If I remember correctly, in the forging of the swords episode, the star Mumm Ra blew up was in the Plundarr system… and had three planets with life forms. (I am not sure how many planets or moons in the Plundar the Old Series had that did so), but it might be interesting to have the 'Tacs the soul survivors of those worlds and want revenge, even to the point of using the innocent to get it, on Mumm Ra.
I actually imagined her as more of an armored, Egyptian woman with Angel wings (in contrast to Mumm-Ra’s demon wings)
Also, i imagined her as basically doing what Jaga does: advising the Thundercats on how to do certain things. The only difference is that, while Jaga is able to come to their aide on just about everything, there will only be a certain amount of situations where Mumm-Rana’s power is needed.
In a way, i see her more as the Rafiki to Lion-o’s Simba, like how Jaga is the Mufasa to Lion-O’s Simba
I think Mumm-Rana would work out pretty well in hammy0924 and crew’s ThunderCats 2011 fan comic.
While I like the idea of her being a big supporter, I feel like if she did have a major regret that contributes to a character flaw, it would be much more interesting and/or relatable, because not even someone’s idol o supporter is/are perfect.
From the beggining I loved the art concept of the NS, it would’ve been too cool to see the Lunataks! Somehow I think they would have lasted even more than the mutants as significant villians in the NS but that’s just me.
