I expect this will set a world record that will never be beaten for the final selling price of a comic book (unless it gets resold).
It’s just ridiculous that a comic from 1938 could be in 9.0 (near mint) condition. Staggering. It hasn’t been restored either which is flabbergasting.
It’s pretty cool that it’s making such a big amount but even if I had a few million lying about I can’t say this comic would interest me. I was never a big fan of Superman.
It always amazes me how much collectibles go for.
So the auction closed at over $3.2M US.
I wonder who bought it.
Honestly if I was worth 3.5M I would have bid on it.
