So far having watched all but 9 epsiodes of the Thundercats Season 2 Volume 1 I think I am cinfident in saying so far Tygra seems to be the most underused Thundercat. Shame as he is my fave. Twice from memory he has been sent in space somewhere to train the Thundercats which is slightly annoying and his biggest role in an epsiode was probably The Garden of Delights…barring ofcourse The trial of Mind Power.
Who do you guys was the most underused and under-developed Thundercat?
Well, officially the ThunderCat to get the least screen time is Pumyra - she didn’t turn up until season 2, and was left behind on Third Earth for the last batch of episodes (what are often referred to as “season 4”) along with Tygra.
It’s kind-of hard to say who the least-used ThunderCat is - on paper I’d almost be tempted to say Panthro, simply because whilst Tygra, Cheetara, the ThunderKittens and even Snarf got episodes “spotlighting” them, off the top of my head I struggle to think of an episode that really shone the spotlight firmly on Panthro, he was just always this solid, reliable figure who was always there!

Actually, since I know a lot of people think Panthro was one of the cooler cats, I think he was shown a quite a bit. There was an episode where it was based on him (can’t recall the title, but it was in season 1) – Mumm-Ra cloned Panthro and put Hammerhand’s soul into the cloned Panthro body…and everyone thought Panthro turned evil.

I’d say Spitting Image was a Panthro episode.

As soon as I hit “submit reply”, I knew that someone would point that episode out! And, it’s bang on the money, I can’t believe I forgot about that one - and, I would agree that Panthro got a lot of actual screen time, thinking about season 2 episodes, probably second only to Lion-O throughout the whole series. However, for episodes that really rely heavily on certain characters, I can’t help having this feeling that Panthro was one of the lesser-used in terms of main focus in an episode. It is just a feeling though, it’s not backed up by any scientific study!

Tygra. With Pumyra a close second.

Howdy
I actually felt Bengali from what I have seen so far to be the second most underused Thundercat (behind Tygra), the Kittens didn’t get to do a lot as well…except when they ran away or messed with the other Cats weapons.
The ones who seemed to get the most attention were: Lion-O, Panthro and Cheetara.

I totally agree that Tygra was the least used. And it’s too bad, because he was my favorite, as well. I personally agree w/ Manny that both him & Bengali were both under-used, along w/ Pumyra after them. You know, for such a cool character, they sure made Tygra look like he always made stupid decisions…
Tygra,
After the Thundercats went back to New Thundera, they left Tygra behind, and pretty much wrote him off the rest of the episodes of the show. Too bad really, I always loved that whip thing he had that turned him invisible .
Yep. I’d place Pumyra before Tygra though. Tygra was fairly prominent in the first season, but with the addition of the new Thundercats he became more of a background character. Pumyra didn’t get much play from the start. :irked:
