I was just wondering what the maximum you have paid for a MOC thundercat and what is the largest purchase of a thundercat?
Also coming out of the recession do you think the value in the thundercats line will increase???
Most i ever paid i think was for my MIB Sword of omens which cost me £97 on ebay a couple of years back. Thats the most ive ever paid and id never do it again, as much as these items are precious to me ive convinced myself to stop paying silly money.
The most I ever paid was $1800 for my AFA 85 Sword of Omens. The next was around $400 for my Thundercats plastic 3-D poster. I know its a lot of money buy I have yet to regret any of it and I’m never going to sell them. They are pretty much one of a kind until proven otherwise. They are also very special to me and worth every penny 
As far as the value is concerned, I believe in “it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay” approach. I don’t buy these for resale, just for my personal collection.
Around £200 for my MOC Rainbow Toys Tygra just recent.
It’s very rare and almost never turns up (especially on such a nice card/bubble)
Not something I’d always pay, but it was an item I wanted to ‘treat’ myself with. Next would probs be my Rainbow Toys MOC Bengali, but I forget what I paid for that.
My best purchase would be my Grand Toys MOC Tygra, which only cost me $36! I kid you not and it’s in mint condition and certainly AFA worthy! 
My tops spent on Thundercats was 500 each for AFA 80 Bengali, 85 Driller, and 90 Stinger; tops for any toy was Eternia in box for 700 and the same if you count Monstructor as a set in Transformers (it’s actually 6 individual figures carded.) I could see going a grand for some select toys but it would have to be a sealed Cat’s Lair in good shape, Tytus or Megator from the foreign release MOTU in box, sealed Optimus Prime/Megatron, or if I could find THE 8 Back Lion-0, like 90 or high subs 85 and stunning as a show piece..that I could do without vacation or eating out for a bit for. I have had nothing but trouble with Lion-O, sent in a beautiful unpunched one and got a 60 cause of a bubble crack. :lionomad: Not actively looking cause I just bought a new super fish tank but anyone have any of these grails…
I think this and every vintage toy line will more than keep up with inflation over time as new collectors entire the market and the demand outweighs the supply especially on the harder to find figures and accessories. The internet has made collecting possible for so many people this past decade and I think there is huge upside on these ten, fifteen, twenty years from now investment wise whether the characters are released as action figures or not. I’m not sure there will ever be a huge spike of demand unless there is a movie or new figure release but I see these holding value and trending upwards in the long run. But like most people on here I can’t imagine parting with mine and hope I’m never in position to have to.
i never bothered getting the Stinger figure as i do not recall ever seeing that character on the TV show. unless i missed something?
I think for me it was a carded Bengali…i think i paid $250 for one. Most of my collection is now long gone as I have sold most of it within the last couple of years but Im happy to have placed the proceeds into more valuable assets.
I never thought I would sell but truthfully I think i got burned out by putting my collection together way too quick.
