I feel the same way, but when I asked about if we were going to get the whole set of characters in 8 inch (the answer being yes, over time), they possibility of classic 6 inch was brought up, and a classic cartoon style ThunderTank to accompany.
The more I hear about it, the more I like! The Duelist sounds cool; kind of in the same vein as the Demolisher or Safari Joe with a bit of Hachiman thrown in. I always liked the idea of the Thundercats going up against some sort of hunter-like figure. Ideally, I’d like to see them go up against the Predator, but then Warner’s would have to pay for the rights. Not a bad idea for a crossover fanfic, tho!
The guy with the spiked ball for a head also sounds reminiscent of Drilla. Glad that they’re at least staying true to the idea of crazy-looking villains.

It’s nice to see Thundercats returning but I am not a fan of the redesigns. I subscribe to the, “if it’s not broke, don’t try to fix it” rule.

And how is Cheetara a bit taller than Panthro here???
I like the new designs so far.
What I like most about them is that they are all instantly recognizable. I haven’t seen a new look and gone “OK, who is that supposed to be?”. They all look close enough to their old sevels, but also serve as nice updates.

Panthro looks great! I like that they are going for the “grizzled veteran” type approach by making him all scared up. And making him the hulk of the group makes sense. And you know what? I like the mutton chops! Makes him look like Jet from Cowboy Bebop, and I like it.

And I can not tell you how happy i am that GRUNE THE DESTROYER is coming back! When I look at the one shot/guest villains from the old show, Grune was a must to include, and it looks like they’ve planned from the start to reuse him. And yes, he looks great. Now if they bring in Ratar-O and actually fulfill the potential the character had in the old show that was never realized, I’ll be stoked.

My only knocks so far are these: 1) I don’t like the spiky anime hair of Lion-O’s. I just loved that wavy mane he had in the old show, a hair-do I have NEVER seen anywhere else. 2) They went a little too far with the Pokemon look for Snarf.
keep in mind the box was a mock up to stand in for the final one. They weren’t fully finished in time for Toyfair so we got this mock up to show us what the final box will be like. I bet by SDCC we’ll see The Wilytwins, Slithe and Mumm-ra figures on the backs of the boxes.
