Finnaly I can call this custom done, I started work on this one way back in april, so it’s been ongoing for 4 months. I have done others in that time though. On this one I hated doing the fur on his shoulders and face, it took way too long waiting for the sculpt to dry so I could add another layer. I’m particularly happy with the way the added articulation turned out on the feet. Anyhoo, onto the recipe:

Base- Jakks deluxe WWE Batista
Head- resculpted around sasquatch mouth and eyes
Forearms - AOA Sabretooth
Upper arms- same as base
Fur-all sculpted
Skirt- sasquatch fur and sculpt for the belt
Feet- sasquatch toes and sculpted fur
Shinguards- sculpted
Helmet- sculpted
Shield- Chap Mei
Dagger- unknown fodder.

So glad it’s done!!!

wow now thats just awesome!!! you realy made batista into monkian lol!!! I wont be able to watch batista now on wwe and not think about monkian lol …well done mate!

Haha, cheers mate maybe if the live action movie ever did get made Ol’ Dave would be shoe in to play the monkey:D

Very nicely done indeed! I would say he definitely looks more angrier than the original :). The only thing that would make him even better is if he would be bulkier all around to make him look more like an ape but I don’t know where you’d get that kinda parts. Waiting to see if anybody will take the MOTU Classics Gygor or upcoming Shadowbeast to make another Monkian custom! Please don’t take my comments negatively since I’m a big fan of customs and would love to one day be able to try doing some stuff like that myself.

No offence taken at all mate, constructive criticism is how we grow as customizers. However, I will say this was not meant as a cartoon accurate take on Monkian as with all my Tcats I put my own slant on him. If you’re really thinking about giving it a go I say go for it, practice makes perfect and you’re guaranteed to make a few duff ones at first but don’t be disheartened keep plugging away and you’ll soon learn the skills needed. I’m still learning and i’ve been at it for 2 years now:)
